Obol - The Original Never Soggy Cereal Bowl/With The Spiral Slide Design 'n Grip - Med Ivory Discontinued color

As someone who gags and the mere thought of soggy cereal, I was more than excited to find this bowl. It has the perfect design for controlling exactly how much cereal I want to allow to touch my milk.There were just a couple of things that prevented me from giving it a full 5 star rating:First, I wish the cereal section were a little bigger. I realize after reading some of the other reviews that it's supposed to be the size of a single serving and that's great and all but let me choose if I want a single serving or not. Plus some people need space for the fruit that they have with their cereal.Second, I don't understand why the milk section is so deep. It's neither a good nor bad thing that it's deep, I just didn't understand the purpose. I felt like I ended up with a lot more milk than anticipated in my bowl because I didn't realize just how deep the section was.Anyway, if you are someone who likes your food separated, this is the bowl for you.

Now I, in my 39 years of existence, never had a problem with soggy cereal because you pour the cereal, then the milk, and take care of business. However there are those who want to sit there at the table and conversate, or read something while there cereal is sitting there getting soggy, now THAT is when something like this is necessary. Now for someone like me I would need to fill this thing up a dozen times to get what probably a normal person would consider a regular bowl of cereal, but I am assuming if you feel the need for something like this you might fancy youself someone who could pour yourself a dozen bowls of cereal as to not have soggy cereal. My significant other is just that type of person. However, for her a couple of small bowls is just enough, and to have that crunchy cereal while she sits there and talks this thing is perfect. She loves it. I prefer to keep stuffing my mouth full of cereal and to use that crunch noise to drown out the noise of chit chat, but she loves the things, and uses it all the time.

The Obol is a great cereal bowl, sturdy yet graceful, very pleasing to the eye. More importantly, no more soggy cereal! The Obol design is clever, as the "handle" part allows you to safely eat the cereal (i.e., without spilling the contents or having the milk encroach onto the cereal) anywhere you like...even sitting up in bed, which is where I eat mine every morning, while reading a book. But the bowl is just as useful if you eat your cereal sitting demurely at the kitchen table, which I do when people are around.It would be nice if the cereal part were a tiny bit bigger (I bought the small bowl), but having said that, the size is actually perfect for anyone watching their calorie intake because it holds the amount of cereal that is listed as a "serving" on cereal boxes, so....The Obol is a little more expensive than its competition, an ordinary divided bowl made of lightweight, flimsy-feeling plastic. I bought that one first, but the few extra dollars Obol cost is well worth it because the Obol is much more substantial, and is a far superior product.

What can I say. The Obol is fantastic. This was bought as a gift after having had mine for over two years. I hate, hate, hate soggy cereal- so much so that I had resigned to eating dry cereal for the rest of my life. Then came the Obol. Non-soggy cheerios- you bet! Cinamon Toast Crunch- stays crunchy!If you are like me and like your cereal crunchy and crisp then you will not be disappointed. It also works great for chips and dips. I am partial to eating queso dip with frito scoops. This works great for that.Also, it's a breeze to clean. Dishwasher safe.

I was eager to get this new style cereal bowl but I didn't actually look close enough. The picture shows a white bowl and since the product is shown against a white backdrop, it isn't clear that the partition isn't all the way across the bowl. This defeats the purpose of separating the cereal from the milk, or the dip from the chip. In addition, the smaller side is too small. The designer made too much of an accommodation for the grip leaving one side too shallow to make much of a difference. Sadly, others have stepped in and corrected this mismatch and they are eating the competition (so to speak;). I'm going to get the better design (thankfully, I only ordered one)

This is the second Obol that we have purchased, the first one was for my husband who hates soggy cereal, we have had it for 2 years at least and still looks brand new. The maker of this product should be very proud, especially since it is made in America YEA!!!, it is not just a divided bowl, it is made for keeping the cereal in one spot and the milk in another and bring a bite of cereal into the milk as you eat it.The new one I just bought is a gift for my brother who saw my husband using his and loved it.

The Obol is just simply a 100% perfect inspiration based invention. It just plain works (and it is made in America). For about ten years now, it has become a family tradition here for me to buy one for each new grandchild. They love them and use them for eating all sorts of foods, not just cereal and milk. The Obol construction is so sturdy that I have no doubt that they will continue in near daily use long after I am gone. I hope I may be remembered through their use in the future.

We could not be happier with our 2 medium Obol bowls. We used them for cereal and are anxious to try them with soup/crackers and yogurt/granola. They are super comfy to hold and the quality is better than expected. I love that they are made in the USA! The Obol will now be my gift of choice for all those people on my list that are impossible to buy for. It is such a well made, fun product!

It works very well - keeps the cereal unsoggy!

I used this bowl for the first time today with Cinnamon Toast Crunch and it is amazing. Using the two tier design just feels like second nature and the grip has just enough roughness to it that you don't have to worry sbout it slipping. I bought one for my wife as well but I think I'll be buying two more so that we don't have to keep washing them every day by hand.

En plus d'être mignon comme tout, mon nouveau Obol est vraiment très utile ! Je déteste les céréales ramolies par le lait, alors je suis servie ! Plus besoin de manger super vite pour que mes céréales restent croquantes ! En plus, la poignée (en dessous) permet de tenir fermement le bol, ce qui fait que je peux manger partout sans risque de dégât ! Chapeau à celui qui a pensé à ça ! J'ai plusieurs amis qui l'ont vu et en veulent maintenant un !
