Not very moisturizing
I was thinking about trying Kinky Curly Curling Custard, but the price ($17.00 plus $8.00 for Knot Today) is a little overwhelming for a product I've never tried. A friend gave me a jar of Roots of Nature Feather Whipped Curl Cream because she did not like it for her hair. According to the jar's description, it is supposed give the same effect as KCCC, so I was excited to give it a try. The smell is amazing. I applied the product as directed and I like the curl definition I got. The only thing is as my hair drys, my hair is dry. Normally to get the same effect I cornrow my hair using Qhemet Biologics Amla and Olive Heavy Cream. But, with a 16 month old son running around I was looking for a wash and go hair do. Based on the results I am getting, I would still need to add the heavy cream for moisture. Not going to happen. Using 2,3 or more products in my hair is not in my budget. Even though Qhemet Heavy Cream is $16.50, I only use it once a week. So, I'll stick with what I was doing before.

Not 4 Me
I can't entirely fault the product because my hair 4a/3c is probably a tighter curl than what it's designed for. I had to use a lot of it for it to work for me. My hair looked good but I don't like my hair to feel too coated so I was ready to wash it out sooner than I usually would have been. That said it's not bad. I just like the coil cream better.

This actually worked on my fine 4a/b/c hair type
I only purchased this because a local B&M store was clearancing out this line. So I got two jars for cheap. To be honest, I would never purchase this because it stated that it was intended for those with a looser curl pattern. Like I mentioned in the title, I have a solid type four hair that is very porous and fine. While I love and swear by the Coil Creme, this one actually held its own. My twist outs was defined and no frizz. The only con is that it doesn't lock in the moisture in my hair and it leaves my hair slightly crunchy if that makes sense. So by day three or four, my hair will be crying to be moisturized, while if I used the Coil Creme, I can push it till the next time I shampoo my hair. If I slog through my stash, I might repurchase, but I would need to use a moisturizing cream underneath it to make it work better for me.
