Size:2 inches x 36 yd  |  Color:Black 3M General Purpose Vinyl and Hazard Marking Tapes 764 are the cost-effective choice for a variety of safety marking and color coding applications where you don’t see tough conditions or the need for long term clean removal. Conformability, instant adhesion and easy unwind make these tapes ideal for marking equipment, walls and pipes. Designed with unique stretch properties, this tape conforms to rough, irregular, curved and convex surfaces while remaining stretched and without lifting after application. The rubber adhesive offers quick stick and excellent holding strength on many substrates. It also maintains its color when exposed to abrasion, wear and many solvents. Using 3M Vinyl Tape is a faster, more versatile and less costly option than painting, which often requires ventilation and time-consuming prep and clean-up processes. Recommended applications include floor marking; general purpose holding and bundling; color coding; marking of parts or machines; temporary protection of parts, equipment or products from abrasion; and decorating.

Great tape for so many applications
This is great tape. It sticks well but can be removed fairly easily without leaving adhesive residue behind. I've used this to patch a hole in my slideout awning on my motohome (and cover a leaking marker light during recent rains), hang banners and posters and secure wires. Unlike the vinyl gaffers tape (which is also awesome) you have to cut this with a knife or scissors but this also has a smooth texture which is better for some applications (and it comes in white which the other tape does not).

Vibrant color, easy to use, stands up good to tough weather conditions.
Our portable basketball system blew over in a storm and the backboard broke. Instead of paying the ridiculous price Spaulding was going to charge, I decided to make our own replacement from plexiglass. I purchased this tape for the shooting circle and edges and pinstriped with black vinyl tape. It worked like a charm! This tape was easy to use, vibrant red color, and after months of hard rain and hot days, it looks as good as day one. Great product. Plenty left for a future project, but even with the excess materials, the cost of the backboard was 1/3 of the replacement.

Does the job!
This tape has held up really well, and blends in perfectly to fix up our insulation where the contractors left a massive hole in the wall.

Good product for use on changeable messages on vinyl banners
Excellent product for my needs. We have large banners to announce upcoming projects with blank spaced for dates, etc. The vinyl banners don't wipe clean with any of the typical markers, leaving ghosts of prior marking. We ordered this tape to place on the banners so that we could write on it and remove it without damage to the banner. We can now use a large Sharpie to write 2.5" lettering in black on the tape applied to the banner and then remove it and reuse it for the next event. It works perfectly, the marker does not bleed through, the tape removes easily without leaving residue, the tape adheres out doors and in the rain, and the color perfectly matches the banner's background. The only thing we must do is carefully remove the tape from the roll as it may stretch a bit if care is not used but it is not difficult to straighten out as it is carefully applied to the banner.

Very good tape
Excellent tape. A bit expensive but sticky and we used it to repair a torn awning on our RV. It's wide enough that you don't need to have exactly 1/2 on each side. If buy it again.

Amazingly Super Strong White Wide 3-inch Tape
This is amazing tape. First it is white and you can write on it without seeing the tape if you tape it on something white. Next it is super strong. This tape held up a heavy banner I taped to the wall and amazingly held it with no problems! I also use it to tape signs together that I write on. Really nice. Super strong. Great 5-star value.

Great product
I spent a lot of time researching the differences between this (764) and 3M 471 Vinyl Tape. The 471 products is wildly more expensive while this is very affordable. My research told me that the adhesive (rubber based) on the two products is identical and the only real difference is the body - the supposed vinyl. While the 471 is made out of actual vinyl, this product is made from Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC).I bought this tape for a single application - to seam together large sheets on vinyl insulation backing. My process was to tack the tape to the material first at room temperature and then use a heat gun to stretch the tape if needed, and to get a permanent bond with the heat and pressure. The tape is a bit stiff at room temperature, but can get very limp and stretchy (kind of like a sandwich baggie) when hot. I also had to adhere the tape to a metal window frame. My installation went well. This is only an indoor application, but so far it's performing to my expectations. The tape is still adhering well (to the vinyl and the metal) and is doing exactly what I wished - and some of the pieces I do have under some amount of stress after the stretch.

Great for use with reflective bubble pack insulation material or water heater blankets
I insulated about 1400 sq ft of ceiling using R19 and the special bubble pack insulation also found on AmazonĀ Reach Barrier SS48250 Air Single Reflective Polyethylene Insulation Roll, 4 x 250-Feet . I used the bubble pack Reach barrier to hold the R19 into the ceiling by stapling it to the wood rafters. The 3M Vinyl tape was great for sealing up the seams of the Reach barrier. Just had to make sure the reach barrier was clean and that I didn't overstretch the 3M tape (it would just come a little unstuck wherever the tape got dirty or overstretched in a spot. It took at least 4 rolls to tape up all the seams.I think this would also work great on white colored water heater insulation blankets.

Sticks to Rubbermaid Roughneck Totes in Unheated Storage
I've had trouble finding waterproof (non paper) labels that stick to Roughneck Totes. (Rubbermaid Roughneck totes are made from a flexible plastic which is notorious for not holding labels well.) But this tape sticks to the totes & stays put even in -30 cold or in hot, humid conditions. You can write on it with permanent marker, so it makes awesome & cheap labels (It's 3" wide & you can cut strips as long as you need, for any labeling purpose.)Yes, you can pull it off the tote if you need to change labels, just pry up the edges & pull slowly.

Vinyl Tape
I am glad I bought this tape as it is the exact white shade I wanted as my room is white. It is pretty strong in quality. Happy I bought it.

Sticks great!
I put the tape on top of my roof to hold down some wires and it was below zero at the time and the tape stuck very very good to the surface. Very impressed with the product!
