Quality gunsmith hammer for AR 15 taper barrel pins! Weighs more than my 1.5 lb brass hammer.
This is a great dead blow hammer and mine weighed more than 1.b, more like 2 -2.5 which is great! This is an ideal gunsmithing hammer , especially for driving taper pins out of the AR 15 front sight post. Other hammers of the same quality go for a lot more in price than this one. i bought the brass and nylon orange 1.5 lbs. dual head TuffMan Tools dead blow hammer on Amazon and it says it's 1.5 lbs. and I can tell you that this is a least feels twice as heavy which pleases me. One of the better buy products i have purchased. Love it! Buy it! Other hammers cost 2 or 3 times as much for the same quality as this. Will consider buying another as a spare since someone stole my last hammer I had. Ladies! A great gift for any man!

It's a dead blow ball peen smackin stick; does smackin stick type things pretty well, and it was under 20 bucks

First impressions are definitely NOT dead blow and the handle is a bit skinny. Seems like a good value though and will update as needed.

Decent for the Mon’ Hon’
This hammer works great. I don’t think it’s shot filled, but it doesn’t seem to bounce either. I’ve used it to pound in a few pins and bushings so far and other than the face getting a bit dented it’s holding up well.

NOT a Dead Blow! Just a Cheap Plastic Covered Hammer
Others have pointed out and are right - this is NOT a dead blow hammer. It's just a hammer with a relatively soft face. There must be better options. Don't waste your money.

Works as intended
Good weight with no rebound. Feels and sounds like a shot filled head and the handle has a little flex to it, snappier than straight plastic though. Does exactly what it's supposed to do at the right price. Not sure about longevity yet but initial impressions after one fairly rough use project are stellar with no damage taken. A+ in my book.

Not a dead blow
First! Not a dead blow, but it has taken a serious beating. I’ve had mine for over 5 years, still great condition. I got a snapon dead blow if that’s what looking for. This is a great ball-peen hammer and not just for the money.
