A good, slick shaving soap. Worth it.
Lathers really well. Smells good. What more do you want in a shave soap. Tallow based - NB all you vegetarians! But a good, slick shaving soap. Worth it.

Great Product
Use the shaving soap to shave today. Great lather with a light fragrance that is very pleasant. If you use a shaving soap you have to give this a try.

Good soap, great scent
There are better quality artisan shave soaps out there but they are generally more expensive and this one has such a great scent. It’s one part barbershop (clean, powdery, slightly floral) and one part leather/tobacco. The result is a clean masculine scent. Good skin protection too - not the best artisan shave soap I’ve ever tried, but good enough that I’ll keep ordering this when I want to enjoy the scent.

Excellent
Excellent in every way. I'm a brush and soap shaver. Have tried many others. This is the only one I buy again.

The smell is NOT what you think, I regret this
tl;dr: this is floral, do NOT expect any hints of Texas cedarwood, leather, smoke, gunpowder, or even bergamot. I am so disappointed and I regret this so much. The description stated the scent as "main notes being bergamot, basil leaf, white patchouli, oakmoss, texas cedar, leather, smoke, and gunpowder."This description is COMPLETELY different from how it smells. Subjectively, this scent reminds me of my Grandmother's bathroom. (which is funny to think of that being the smell of Western Barbershops)Leather, smoke, and gunpowder:This is the scent I was most excited for. I was hoping it would be akin to Duke Cannon's camp fire soap There is zero leather or any type of smoke/gunpowder scent.Bergamot:I barely, if at all, pick up any scent of this, do not expect anything like how Earl Gray Smells.Texas cedar:There is no wood scentI feel this is quite a floral scent, so I am guessing it is heavier on the, basil leaf, white patchouli, oakmoss notes. However I am not familiar with how these three ingredients typically smell.Unfortunately I cannot return this product... I purchased this over their Sherlock scent because I was excited to pair an shave cream that allegedly had texas cedar, leather, smoke, and gunpowder with my Duke Cannon's Camp fire (or even leather) bar soap.So so so so disappointed. I am not even sure I want to risk the $$$ to buy the Sherlock scent either, at risk of it being disappointing too.
