Great for car rides, or by the fire listening

I purchased this instead of flowers for my daughter who was recovering from surgery. She is a great fan of anything Lake Wobegon and tells me this is also wonderful. If you appreciate the wit and delivery style of Garrison Keillor, you will appreciate this CD. That is what she tells me. After she has listened to it for the thousandth time, perhaps I can borrow it and find out for myself.

some repeat stories, and i don't mind much, considering which ones they are, but out of all those years, i'd like to get all new stories on each new collection. am watching for the story that features a mouse with blue paint on its leg.

When I need help falling asleep, I put on a CD and listen to the wholesome humor of Keillor's melodious voice. I just love his stories and sometimes I even get to hear the endings when I am really restless. I have most of the stories memorized because they have been played so often. I am often reminded of these stories in everyday life when situations arise that are similar, and have a good laugh at myself.

On longer road trips, its like having a friend in the car with you, keeping you alert and entertained at the same time.

I love to give these collections of monologues to folks who are experiencing a long recovery from surgery or undergoing medical treatment. The monologues are funny to listen to, and after they have listened to them a time or two, just hearing Garrison Keillor's soothing voice has a calming effect. The stories from Lake Wobegon are the best sleeping potions available--and there are no side effects other than falling asleep with a smile on your face.

Great item - this along with his other CDs are great to listen to on long trips on the highway - very funny and entertaining.

Garrison Keillor is a wonderful story teller. We started listening to News from Lake Wobegon and More news from Lake Wobegon on car trips when the kids were young. We never tired of them and always laughed and laughed. These are my favorites of all his works.

Always good fun. Worth waiting for.
