Liked the story
I read this rather quickly and for me it rates between 3 and 4 stars.Shane and Beth are almost parents and Beth wants a weekend away. (Ofcourse) Something happens: Beth and Shane's sister get involved in a hostage situation. Well, actually, they are not IN the hostage situation as they can hide, but the situation is dire. Especially when Beth is going into labor.Liked the story, was not really a fan of the whole 'Beth is so vulnerable and blames herself for everything' stuff, but well..

Wow!
Another harrowing adventure for Beth, but this time there’s a precious little soul in attendance. This series is so hot! No matter who the main characters are, they’re all involved in each book in some way so you get invested in what’s going on from the beginning and cannot wait to see how their stories turn out. I cannot wait to see what’s going on with Jake and Annie!

Our favorite family plus one
Baby Luke is finally here, but after a whirlwind and dangerous delivery. This book is so real, written with so many true circumstances, it's hard not to fall in love with the characters. I literally cried when he made his entrance, which is a testament to April's writing and how much emotion it evokes. Beth and Shane have a beautiful love and I adore their relationship. Watching them grow their family and seeing the whole family dote on tiny Luke was such a heartwarming experience. I really feel like I'm there with them. This book is the perfect blend of romance, heat, drama, and love. Always a HEA. I can't wait for more of the family and their next installment. ❤

Misleading title
The story of Beth and Shane continues as they await the birth of their son. It’s another piece of the McIntyre family saga. Technically, Beth is never a hostage, and the book ends up being more about her postpartum depression, but it’s an enjoyable read. There are plenty of grammar and spelling issues. The restaurant where Gabrielle works is either Renaldo’s or Rinaldo’s depending, but the characters are still fun!

A moving, well written book with tight plot!
While I was reading this book I couldn't shake the feeling that I was reading my daughter's birth delivery story! The circumstances were not exactly the same, but what is described in there is exactly what I felt! That numbness, that guilt! OH MY GOD! April did it again!Beth and Shane are so lucky to have so many people to support them! The book was so moving, well written and with tight plot. I couldn't stop reading it. April is very talented. I finished it yesterday and I have to say that I loved it sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much! Shane was so wonderful, understanding, caring, patient with Beth who needed him to be like that. Oohhhhhhhhhhhhhh I need more! I already feel the effects of withdrawal! I cant' wait for the stories of Jack, Mac, Tyler, Killian and Liam (with that order).

Hazardous Day Trip
Beth needed a couple of days away from home. So close to her due date Shane wasn’t happy but, he wants to please his wife. What started as a pleasant trip to the cabin gets dangerous. Love this series and all the characters!

Hostage by April Wilson
I loved this novel about Leah and Shane MacIntyre. Leah owns a bookstore and is pregnant. Her adventures during the pregnancy and the expansion of the book store mage for a delicious novel. I highly recommend this novel!. Renee Goldberg [email protected]

Second time of reading was even better.
When I started reading the McIntyre series, it only took a few pages before I was hooked. Everything about Vulnerable, the beautiful cover, the emotions felt and learning about all the people involved. The fact that April is very good at writing the "hot" scenes is a very big bonus too.I worked my way through the series falling in love with all of the characters (keeping Beth and Shane at the top) eagerly waiting for each new release.I made a mistake though. While waiting for Hostage, I over thought the story. Of what would happen, what situations there would be etc, etc. Because of this when the book was released, although I enjoyed it, it wasn't what I was expecting. A bit stupid really as I didn't write it, so why would I have a clue about what was going to happen? As it takes time to write a book, I've had several months to rea other material and let my views on Hostage settle while waiting for Redeemed to be released. Last night I decided to re-read Hostage in preparation and I am so glad I did. It was like reading it with a fresh pair of eyes.I fell in love with it just like I did the rest of the stories. I already knew what was going to happen, so I could read it without any expectations. The guilt, the heartache and all the other emotions Beth went through all rang true. Her journey in learning how to be a mother, although different than mine still brought back how hard but wonderful it is.I am so glad I gave Hostage another chance and that April has once again proved that she has a true gift and talent that I would love to have.

Absolutely floved it!
OMG April Wilson this is amazing I'm so in love with this series! When Beth wants to go on one last road trip before baby Luke arrives Shane relents after being seduced in his office but things take a drastic turn. Shane is tested to his limits and with Cooper giving him a hard time it's all he needs!Baby Luke makes an early appearance with some heartbreaking and touching moments. Cooper and Sam are just so adorable and melt my heart with baby Luke.Great to see a softer side to Tyler i love him! Touching scenes with Jamie feeling his nephews face to see him and changing his diaper and Beth talking with Molly! Can't wait for Jakes story now we have more of an insight to it, exciting!

Amazing series addition
Another amazing book to add to a brilliant series. Definitely recommend reading in order as each book follows on from the one before. This book we are back with Shane and Beth again as we await their arrival of their baby. A hostage situation happens and we see Shane do what Shane does best. All the other characters we love so much feature, which just adds to the brilliant series this is. Couldn't recommend this series enough :)

Just didn’t do it for me
I have loved every book in this series. However this particular book just didn’t do it for me. I felt it was written for the sake of giving Beth and Shane another book. I loved this couple and their journey sadly this book felt to me waste of time. The hostage situation in my opinion was ridiculous and wasn’t concluded properly. The rest centred around the birth. Just felt it could have had more story....

Bravo for Hostage! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Tense and dramatic. Tender and romantic. Will I ever tire of reading about Shane and Beth? Not likely! I love that, in between all the siblings and friends stories that are being told, we can always be going back to Shane and Beth for each new chapter in their lives. They are such a special couple and April Wilson writes their dynamic so well that I could keep reading as long as she keeps writing their stories!
