Perfect upgrade to stock Fluval sea 13.5
First: it's not $499Second: 7 unique LED band waves of light, 400nm,420nm,440nm,460nm,480nm,10k-13k and a rare pink shade. Thats 3 different shades of blue,1 very bright Cool white shade, 1 purple shade and that red/pink one. These are important if you wanna grow coral or anemones. They love these shades of blue, it's like cr*ck to a cr*ckhead.Third: this is a very high quality light. I've been through several fixtures the cords always degrade, button starts faulting, LEDS start malfunctioning..Not this beast. My last one just started shorting out one day shooting sparks, Luckily I was home. So believe me when I say this quality is TOP of the line.Lastly: the LEDs in this fixture have been custom made to create and simulate lifelike real-world colors.. This is hard to find unless you buy a kessil or similar. Fluval have always been pretty high quality honestly.Last bit of advice to the people just starting and wondering if this is what you want. Yes. This is it. This fixture every shade of color to be successful. The more spectrums of light you can create the better your creatures grow and reproduce. The brightness is decent at 25k that's more than capable to support reef life. (soft coral and anemones) now I've not tried growing hard coral in this light, but my tank is only 18" deep and it seems more than capable.I thought it was kinda expensive for a light, I only have a smaller tank. But now I wouldn't send it back for love nor money. Trust me try this light before you go spend $699 on a new ridiculously expensive light that does the exact same thing with poorer construction. I paid about $150 for the 18"-24" model Fluval Sea Marine 3.0.If you've got a Fluval sea 13.5gal nano tank you'll be happy this light fits perfectly over the opening left in the stock lid. Dont put it on the inside lip of opening. It may fall in and kill everything even though it's IP67 water proof, don't take the chance. The front extension should rest in the little feeding access hole in front of lid. The rear extension rest securely between the top lid and the filtration lid. Just in that little crack there.

The best light for the money
For the amount of functionality that this light affords and the fact that it fits perfectly into a fluval 13.5 Evo top is just amazing. The app is awesome once you learn how to use it. And the light is absolutely perfect for the growth of all corals including SPS and LPS

Great light = Awesome Corals
Excellent light for my 15 gallon nano tank. The different colors and intensity level features are awesome and the app is great; however if you live in a city make sure you put a password on it. Ive been able to keep 1 Hammer coral, 1 Leptoseris, 1 Favia, 1 Trumpet coral, 1 Galaxea, as well as 1 Yellow Watchmen Goby, 1 Small Clown, and 1 Firefish. My tank is fairly well established and has amazing filtration otherwise i wouldn't recommend this much inside a 15 gallon but good luck with your tank. This light is great just buy it and learn about the corals before you buy them.

Better then stock light for Evo 13.5
Replace stock light from Evo 13.5. This light is a little longer, fits stock hood but extends to feeder opening. It is so much better then stock light, like 100x better! I had issues with algae and now with this light my issue has decreased because I can reduce the whites! Love this light, should have upgraded light from the start!

Used item, sold as new... gave it a second chance.
Item was repackaged, already open, and used. This was NOT a brand new item, they sold me a used open box item for full price. The sellers forgot to take sticker off from the pervious owners (see image of broken seal sticker with another seal sticker placed over it). There is also salt content on the glass cover from the last owner. The cord isnt package in its original packaging. This item was definitely used not brand new. See images.Update: 5 star for the product, 1 star for the recycled first purchase. I reordered and gave it a second chance, the product is good. Definitely supports an anemone has been doing well for 2 months. I noticed decent coral growth for LPS and softies, with good color. It does fit the fluval 13.5 stock hood.

Fits EVO V 13.5 gallon tank cover. Yay!
I have a Fluval Sea Evo V Saltwater Fish Tank Aquarium Kit, 13.5 gallon tank. My light began shorting out so I purchased this light as a replacement. I am so happy to say it actually fits pretty well in the tank cover. It does overhang slightly into the sump area but for the time being I just put the sump cover on backwards. At some point I may try to cut it to fit. For me it was a win win as I like the solid cover the tank comes with.

It lasted all of 6 months
I purchased this light to replace the stock light on my Fluval Evo tank. The stock light barely made it one year before it died. I figured it must have been just a bad light and I wanted to upgrade it anyway. I liked this light because it would fit with the stock hood. This new light barely lasted 6 months. Add to the fact that the Fluval Evo stock pump did not even last a year either, I will not be spending any more money on Fluval products.
