I've been a teeth grinder since I was young, suffering from headaches, muscle tightness and wear on my teeth as a result. My dentist recommended a night guard because of the extent of wear to my teeth which had begun to get tiny chips. The night guard did nothing for my muscle tightness and pain and I'd sometimes wake up with terrible headaches from gripping my jaw at night. I had the good fortune to learn about this small, elegant, portable device- such an incredible difference! It is truly like night and day- the occasional passive stretching habit is something I look forward to. It feels amazing to have a way to relax and stretch my jaw and reminds me how often I was grinding my teeth! It is helping me to form new habits that involve relaxing and mindfulness, and I am incredibly grateful for this simple solution that is helping me to address the problem directly, instead of chasing symptoms.

I don't normally take the time to write reviews, but I feel that I would be doing a disservice to others if I did not talk about this amazing device. I suffered from chronic tension headaches for as long as I can remember. They could pop up at any time, but usually occurred upon waking. Certainly not a great way to start the day and these headaches would often prove to be debilitating. I tried everything I could think of from homeopathic remedies to prescription medications, but nothing worked. I ate ibuprofen like it was candy even though I knew it was not good for me.I recently noticed that I was also experiencing TMJ pain during these episodes, but I had been having these problems for so long that I just never noticed it since I was focused on the headache pain. I came up with the theory that I was clenching my teeth during intense dreams, which then caused me to have debilitating tension headaches when I woke up in the morning. With this in mind, I started to look for devices that would help with TMJ with the hope that this would then alleviate the resulting headache. After trying two different custom night guards from my dentist without any improvement, I reached a point of true desperation. I thought that nothing would ever help me until I came across this crazy plastic thing on Amazon. The price seemed outrageous, but again I was desperate so I figured it would be cheaper than going to see a TMJ specialist and I could always return it if it did not work out.I waited to post this review until I had sufficient time to really test it out and I can only say that this is a miracle for me. I've gone from having severe headaches 3 to 5 times a week to almost ZERO headaches! I use it two to three times a day and keep it on my nightstand if I happen to wake up in the middle of the night with one. There have been a couple of occasions where I started to develop a dull headache in the middle of the day and used this a few times to naturally make it go away! I've gone weeks without taking a single ibuprofen. I’m so glad I trusted the reviews and decided to purchase this ! I haven’t been able to open my mouth more than 1 finger & been having extreme pain & tightness from TMJ. I’ve only been using it for 3 days and already see the results and able to stretch my mouth wider. The only thing I don’t like is that the case they give u for it won’t stay closed so it’s useless.

Only had this for a few days but I am already seeing results. I used the smallest mouth piece for the first day and then started using the medium size stretching tool on day 2. I have suffered for many years with TMJ issues and recently have wound up with my back teeth cracking and I’ve had such severe tmj pain that it has caused me to have trouble sleeping and daily headaches/pain. I don’t know why it took me so long to look for a device like this but I really thought that it was over priced for what it is and that I could just do the stretches without a special tool, however this has not only reminded me to actually do the exercises but it’s also guided me on how far to stretch and having the mouth piece in helps me to not have to actively engage the muscles while stretching so I’m able to relax them and get a good stretch. Even with the small amount of relief I’ve gotten with just using for a few days I can already say it is totally worth the cost I expect I will continue to see even better results and I’m excited for the day that I am finally completely pain free. This is by far one of my best Amazon buys.

Ultimately you could open your mouth for a stretch and count to 30 several times a day and get the same results.This device works great to see progress through measurements or have a physical device to see as a reminder.Good idea, good product. Possibly overpriced. Do what works for you! You can reach goals through consistent stretching either way.

For the price, just use your hands or one of those cheap stress balls. The shape where it hooks onto your teeth makes me feel like it's going to break my teeth one day.
