Sound Town8" Raw Woofer Speaker, 120 Watts Pro Audio PA DJ Replacement Low Frequency Driver (STLF-830)

I've used this brand of speaker doing my shows pretty regularly. They stand up to hours long shows at a relatively loud level. Now mind you m, thats if you know what your doing with ohms load and amlifiers. It's built strong and heavy. I suggest a decent break in period, and the correct air space cabinet for it to really start doing heavy work. I mean right out of the box, it's a pounder. But do a break in period to loosen it up some so it can flex. And it will sound way better. Definitely reccomend

Great cheapo 10" in a plywood cabinet.

Speaker specs were very similar to other higher priced replacement speakers. Sounds excellent in my bass guitar amp.

Sizing was a little off (1/2 inch) so I ended up adjusting my case to fit. But aside from that it performed well. Good value for the price!

I purchased one of these to replace a blown woofer in an old Marantz 7 MK2 speaker. I needed this speaker to generate a tone of 40 hz at a high power level without distortion. I have also played music through this speaker. Speaker means a tweeter, midrange and this woofer. The music sound great. This woofer looks to have a 5 lb magnet and a nice looking voice coil. The original woofers in these Marantz 7 MK2 speakers were both blown. I did not want to buy two at a time because maybe they weren't as good as the specs. The one worked very well, so I bought another. BTW the Marantz speakers were given away because they had blown woofers. The original woofers were clearly light duty. I recommend these woofers for your replacement needs. I had to use a router on the Marantz speakers because they were made for an 11.5 inch woofer. Go figure on that one. Any way after altering the speaker cabinet and mounting them, I am a very satisfied customer. Also, these were delivered promptly. Sound Town in LA is apparently a good source of audio equipment. I have been burned before with substandard audio parts and equipment and try to give praise where it is warranted. You can be confident of good performance with these rather heavy replacements. Be very careful mounting them. They are quite heavy and you could easily put a finger through the cone lifting them. I did this about 30 years ago and have never forgotten. They are packed very cleverly and well to prevent shipping damage. BTW I live in the upper peninsula of Michigan and have zero connection with Sound Town.

The media could not be loaded. To save your money, product does not fit in box. Try two different cabinets and the outer ring is too big. Very disappointed, but the quality of the subwoofer is at peak

This speaker was to replace a 15” pioneer from 1998 yes you read that correctly 1998 when I purchased the cabinet sound system and even though the magnet is 4 times the size of my original pioneer, the left cabinet outperforms the right cabinet which has the new speaker. The new speaker even gets a little crackly at high volume when the bass hits.Very disappointed, all that talk about performing is complete nonsense.

The media could not be loaded. I did a lot of research before purchasing these speakers, and I must say that it paid off. I have built several speaker cabinets, but this one with these speakers sounds better than my Marshall speakers. They easily handle 200 plus watts and sound awesome.
