Nice affordable and ideal 75mm sashlock
It looks nice when installed, the rotation of the latch does require some force and will inevitably scratch the brass finish unless you wrap your pliars with a few wraps of electrical tape or a thick cloth, the removable front plate takes up an additional 1.5-2mm of space you need to account for when chiseling out clearance in a door.I was replacing a 20 year old FOCUS 3 lever mortice sashlock that was getting overly annoying with the latch getting stuck in the casing when fully engaging the handle and this works just fine. The front plate is very flimsy and bends without even trying, so what I did was to get a microfibre cloth and fold it 4-5 times and i used a flat punch and hammer with the punch wrapped in the folded cloth to make sure i could hammer the front plate straight onto the body of the sashlock while it was installed to protect the brass finish and make it sit perfectly flat against the body of the sashlock. The lock is rather stiff and a bit of a bother with the keys being roughly cut and not smoothed but i dont mind that much at all, the lever does make a nice chunky clicking sound when it engages and returns to its position and it doesn't fully retract into the body and get stuck like with my old FOCUS sashlock so this is a perfect replacement for me.It does come with a black plastic lever hideyhole thing for you to install in the frame behind the plate that keeps the lever and lock in position, but I could not be bothered to chisel out even more wood to install it.

The Final Boss Of Cheap, Poorly Made Rubbish.
With Amazon increasingly selling Chinese made junk instead of branded items, I've had some diabolical items delivered over the years. But this one is special.I don't have the vocabulary to describe what an abominable waste of money this lock is. I don't even know what it's made of, but honestly, I can bend the front plate on it with my fingers. The latch bolt wobbles up, down and sideways, but despite it's freedom of movement, doesn't pop out more than halfway unless you lift the door handle. The keeper seems to be made of compressed tinfoil. It comes with no screws to fix the lock to the door.I have had to fit it for the time being until I can get to Wickes to buy a real lock - that will be about three days from now - and I'll be astonished if this thing lasts that long.Seriously. Save your time and money.

Fairly good door catch with reversible bolt; better than any from B&Q.
As other reviewers have mentioned, the faceplate attached to the catch unit was bent as both ends, making it harder to attach the brass outer faceplate. It also made it much harder to slot into the hole in the door where the old unit used to be, even though they are dimensionally exactly the same with the holes, lock, etc in exactly the same places. The whole unit feels cheap and flimsy, although once properly fitted it would take some considerable force to break through the door. It doesn't quite click into place completely with the existing touchplate on the door frame, but if I fit the one that came with this unit in sure that would be different. I won't be buying another one; I'd rather spend a few quid extra to get a better quality one that isn't bent upon arrival. I only went for this one because of the reversible latch bolt, but other manufacturers also provide this feature in one form or another. Such a shame - so nearly an excellent product, just let down by the odd bad components. Maybe a new revision of this product will address these issues, and it will truly be worth being ahead of the competition.

A sashlock with Rotalatch ability
I bought this item as a replacement for my bathroom door lock which had become worn and eventually defective over the years. First, I bought a sashlock from another supplier but found that the latch needed to be reversed on my particular door. You are supposed to be able to do this by removing a screw on the sashlock and making adjustments. But the screw would not move. (Does anybody else hate Philips screwheads ?) Then I found this item with Rotalatch option and figured that would solve my problem. And it did !Of course, over the years, the dimensions of these things have changed slightly so the new lock doesn't just fit into the space vacated by the old one. You have to do some chiselling and careful measuring and lots of pencil marks. There are 2 holes already drilled through the door where the spindles were for the old lock and for me, these pretty much determined where the new lock would go. I bought new handles as well and made sure the distance between the spindles on the sashlock matched that on the handles and the holes in the door.Well, the job is completed now and it is all working fine. In the end, I did decide to extend the holes in the door by 5mm with a Coping Saw but we got there. Yes, I recommend this product, particularly if your door hinge is on the right hand side when the door opens towards you because this most likely means the latch will need to be reversed.
