The duvet cover makes the weights uneven
I chose this blanket with a duvet cover, because I thought it would be easier to keep clean. The problem is that there aren't enough ties inside the duvet, and so the weighted blanket slides around inside the cover. Also, the ties come untied sometimes, which makes the blanket even harder to use. While the duvet cover is very soft, it is also slippery, which results in the blanket slipping off during the night, and sometimes falling completely off the bed. This blanket was twice the price of the 20lb one-piece weighted blanket we got to replace it, and we like the second one much better.

Amazing customer service!
UPDATED REVIEW: I must admit, after my initial disappointment (see previous review below)... I was thinking I was pretty stupid for not researching other options for weighted blankets. But then Harkla followed up on my review. They were concerned, and appreciated my suggestions for improvement. But then, I received another email where they were offering to send me their new and improved blanket, which I gladly excepted. I have slept with it the past couple nights, so that I can give an updated review.First off....no smell!! I am so glad Harkla updated to glass beads for their weighted fill. This makes a HUGE difference, not just for the smell, but it helps keep the blanket a lot less bulky. In addition, the fact that the beads are freely flowing with the cotton fill in each square, again...major improvement. No more hard pockets! The minky soft cover is exactly the same as the first one...love the feel and the hidden zipper. If you are having issues tying the inner blanket to the cover, turn the cover inside out and start by tying the end opposite the zipper. There’s only 2 minor suggestions I have for improving Harkla’s blankets in the future. One is the size/weight ratio. Maybe I’m wrong because I don’t know if/how it changes the therapeutic properties, but I like the idea of being able to have a bigger blanket that isn’t any heavier. My initial purchase was based on size, but it was very heavy. I asked that my replacement was 15 lbs (instead of 25) for that reason, but the 15 lb one is smaller so it doesn’t always cover me in my queen size bed. I realize that this could be a logistics problem with selling on amazon, but maybe an option/link for custom sizes/weights?More importantly, I think another improvement could be made by making the stuffed squares smaller. Just take each current square and divide them into 4 smaller squares. I think it would help greatly with weight distribution and ease of use when picking up and moving the blanket around. With all that said, I’m very grateful that Harkla stepped up and made things right. I hope that they continue to listen to their customers and make improvements based on feedback. There are so few companies these days that actually take the time to so do. Thanks Harkla!!::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::Original review: The only reason I gave this 2 stars is because the minky cover is awesome. Sadly, that’s about it. First is the smell. If you are sensitive to smells, don’t bother. Someone said in the Q&A’s that there was a bad batch of poly pellets. Of course I would be that lucky. But that’s not the biggest issue...weight distribution. Each square of the inner layer has the pellets incased in a plastic baggie. I’m not sure if this is intentional, but since I got the 25 lb blanket based on my weight, it’s incredibly noticeable that when I lay under it, it is as if a bunch of sandbags are laying on me in random places. It would be a lot more comfortable if the pellets were just enclosed loosely in each fabric square. For the amount of money I was willing to spend, I want even weight distribution. After working a long day at the hospital, I had been looking forward to curling up and falling asleep. Instead I tossed fitfully as my body ached in random spots while other places had no weight on it. Needless to say, I’m returning it and doing a lot more research on other brands before I decide to spend $$$.

Blanket
I bought this blanket for my granddaughter, she is autistic. I thought this blanket being weighted wouldn't help. I have seen and looked at other weighted blankets and I was thinking that this one would be similar. Come to find out you have to insert the weights and they are only at the corners, not like other weighted blankets, which is weighted throughout. Anyway my granddaughter doesn't really like covers or anything like it on her due to her autism. Will be returning

first time using a weighted blanket...i love it
the weighted blanket keeps me warmer than the bed sheets. I've been able to sleep at least 6 hours, and sometimes even 8. i have had the blanket for a week. it was easy to follow the instructions and tie the parts together. i haven't washed it yet so unfortunately i do not know how easy it is to clean. i love sleeping with my weighted blanket.

It really does work for anxiety
Background: I'm an adult with a handful of anxiety disorders, and I'm very easily overstimulated, which just makes me even more anxious. While meds help, they just make it possible to function. I'm anxious all the time, and have anxiety attacks often.I was first introduced to the concept of weighted blankets via a social ad for a company that shares a name with a popular recent movie. I didn't like that their product wasn't immediately available and it was kind of ugly. I was also skeptical about them actually inventing the concept of a weighted blanket, so I looked on Amazon for alternatives. This one looked great (and I liked the purple/pink color), but I couldn't make myself purchase it for the longest time. A heavy blanket help anxiety? It seemed ridiculous, and it's not cheap.I finally bit the bullet after an especially bad attack last week. When it arrived, it wasn't exactly what I expected. The comforter/insert was quilted into squares to ensure even stuffing distribution, and the weights were put into bags and distributed throughout those squares. In other words, it was kind of lumpy. It also had a bit of a plasticy smell (it's since gone away). It was a lot bigger than I expected--I was kind of concerned it'd be too small (even having read the dimensions), but as you can see from the photo, it's large enough to completely cover a twin bed with some overhang. In spite of the lumps, it's also really cozy as a regular blanket.I tried it out then, but it didn't seem to have much of an effect. It was cozy, but that was it. I can't sleep with it because it's too hot, so I started regretting my purchase. Then I tried it during an anxiety attack.Wow.It gave the immediate effect of a sedative--and I didn't have to take medication. While the effect wasn't as strong as medication, it was enough that I was able to calm down and get the anxiety to a manageable level. That made this immediately worth it for me. Even if I can only use it for milder attacks, (I don't think it can handle really bad ones by itself) it's worth it. I prefer to use sedatives sparingly since I already take daily medication, and this lets me use them less. That makes this worth it for me. I recommend trying it if you're looking for additional ways to manage anxiety, even if you're an adult.

Great weight, my daughter loves it
it was a bit of a faff to get the cover on but once on my daughter loves it and sleeps with it instead of her duvet now. Great for anyone with ASD or anxiety

Seems to work, quality is great but color options are terrible
I was hesitant to spend so much on a toddler blanket but compared to a no-name weighted one I previously ordered, this Harkla weighted blanket is heads and shoulders above the no-name one in terms of material and build quality. The material of the cover is very soft and luscious. I washed it out of the box and it still remained soft and welcoming. The blanket itself does not provide too much warmth which is a plus so we can my son in his sleepers still because he often kicks the blanket off himself when he's asleep.Design wise, I cannot feel any beads or individual weights in the blanket and the two-piece design is great. The colour options however are terrible to say the least. Most important part, does it help with sleep? I use it with my 2-year old son, it took a while for him to even let me tuck him in with the blanket but once he got used to it...it seem'd to help him calm down and fall asleep in a short period of time. He still occasionally refuses the blanket and those nights would be a 50/50 night on how long it would take him to fall asleep, sometimes quick as with the blanket, sometimes like before the blanket it would take an hour or more. Before the blanket my son was also waking up at 1AM sharp every night screaming, most likely from night terrors, this happened for many months and we have tried many things to stop it but with this blanket on him around 1AM he does not seem to do it. If he kicked the blanket off which he often does then he sometimes will wake up in the middle of the night but not wailing inconceivably like he did before...Overall I think it was money well spent. Does it really help? I think it did in my case. We were at the point where anything for a better night's sleep was worth a try to us.

not good
it is extremely annoying that the cover does not stays on the blanket you have to make a thaith bow inside that always comes loose, really not practical .

Trop petit à mon goût.
La seule chose que je déplore c'est qu'elle est petite. Grandeur doudou pour enfant. À part ça, mon fils s'endort plus vite et à l'aire d'avoir un meilleur sommeil.

Nice weighted blanket, wish it was cooler
Nice, soft weighted blanket. My 3 yr old loves how cozy it is, and definitely helps him fall asleep faster…when he keeps it on. Often flings it off because he gets too hot- my kids are hot sleepers, so I did worry this may be an issue
