Bottom side incredibly useful for mixing pigments
I use this palette solely for watercolor pigments, but I flipped it over and am using the underside to mix pigments. The bottom is divided into 12 square compartments, each 1/8” deep, each mixing square measuring about 1-7/8” X 1-7/8” (nearly 2” square per compartment—a good size). I like the flexibility of this palette’s design—I already had another palette with small, slanted slots for unmixed pigments, but what I really needed was a mixing palette. My other palette is plastic, and while it has its good points (it closes, which keeps out dust), I had the usual problem of having to prep it to avoid paint beading. Plus there was barely any room to mix paint. This porcelain palette eliminates the beading problem altogether, has plenty of room to mix, and is heavy enough to remain stable. It doesn’t have a lid, so I cover it lightly with a heavy duty plastic delivery bag to keep pigments from getting dusty.Lastly, it is incredibly easy to clean each compartment. I just dip a scrap of paper towel into some water and wipe out compartments as I need them. Paints come away easily, and this palette doesn’t stain, unlike plastic.I also happen to hate plastic, don’t you?!

Lovely pallette
It's perfect and fits nicely on my table without taking up too much space. I like that i can have all of these wells assigned to my most used colors with ample room on the pallette for mixing and any other needed color in a painting.

Does the job.
Very nice pallet. Not too big. But adequate. Nice sized space to mix paint. Easy to clean.

Happy with size and ease of use
I love porcelain palettes because it is easy to mix paint. They don't pill or stain. This one offers enough wells to let me choose every color I need for a given project. The wells are small enough that I don't waste paint. The palette is easy to pick up and move, but doesn't take up my whole workspace, while still giving me enough room to mix. It is easy to wipe clean if I need to change colors.

Lovely addition to my porcelain collection
This porcelain palette is smaller than I expected but very useful nonetheless. The best feature is that it's reversible. One side has the mixing area surrounded by 18 wells about the size of a half pan. You can actually stick a half pan in the well with a little blue tack. The reverse side is also glazed and has 12 squares measuring about 4.5cm by 5cm (1 3/4 inch by 2 inches approx.) The overall size is 14cm by 20cm (5 1/2 inches by 7 3/4 inches.) The mixing area on the front side is approx 11cm by 15cm (4 3/8 inches by 5 7/8 inches.Would I buy this again? Absolutely! The porcelain is smooth with no imperfections and level, no paint running to one side or the other like you often find with glazed butcher trays. It's definitely light enough to take with you on the go although I personally wouldn't for fear of breaking it. I do wish it was a bit larger but if you're looking for a porcelain palette with a small footprint than this is for you!

Great, but Small
I really like it! It’s well made, but wow is it small; leave any brush larger than an 6 at home. Wish it had a lid / cover. This is like 1/3 the size of a more standard palette. I wish they would make one about the size of a standard sheet of paper, and include a lid. It would be perfect!

Perfect midsize watercolor palette.
This is a great man size pallet which is very easy to clean. In fact I put mine in the dishwasher. What I like about it is that if you turn it over do you have a whole bunch of mixing wells so I have two of these lights stop them on top of each other for Storage but I use one for the paints and some washes and the other one just for washes. I love using porcelain as compared to plastic because it doesn’t stain and the paint doesn’t bead up. Meeden and Bower Bird make great porcelain palettes. I store mine on a plate drying rack on their sides to keep them safe and to see what’s available for use. Sometimes I let my paint dry then use a squirt bottle of water to “activate” it again. Nothing is wasted and the paint doesn’t ruin the porcelain (plastic would stain no longer giving you a white surface to mix on).

The Perfect Size for Watercolor
This ceramic palette is a perfect size as it sits conveniently next to my right hand near the water container. The center mixing area is very spacious considerinlg the size of the palette.I prefer ceramic to plastic for watercolor as it doesn't stain and distort my colors. I did not know about this brand until I was watching a watercolor demo on YouTube. It's quality for a reasonable price.
