A TWISTED THRILLER...
Twelve years ago Jessica Williams escaped a cult. Thanks to the private detective who rescued her, she reintegrated into society, endured an uncomfortable notoriety, and tried to put it all behind her. Then, at an airport bar, Jessica meets a woman with an identical name and birth date. It appears to be just an odd coincidence—until a week later, when Jessica finds her bank account drained and her personal information stolen. Following a trail of the grifter’s victims, each with the same name, Jessica gathers players—one by one—for her own game. According to her plan, they’ll set a trap and wait for the impostor to strike again. But plans can go awry, and trust can fray, and as Jessica tries to escape the shadows of her childhood, the risks are greater than she imagined. Now, confronting the casualties of her past, Jessica can’t help but wonder… Who will pay the price? My Thoughts: You Can’t Catch Me is a cat and mouse game that kept me hooked from the beginning. Just when I thought I knew how it would all play out, I was fooled.I especially enjoyed the first- person voice of Jessica, as she shares the story of her childhood and the horrific cult to which her parents brought her.Liam was her rescuer, who helped her escape just when everything was turning especially dark. He was also there for her when other events unfolded. She had come to count on him. But there are many secrets she is keeping. All the Jessicas were a few steps too far, but it was fun to watch our Original Jessica as she tried to catch the grifter she called Jessica Two.But what has Jessica One been hiding? What unexpected secrets will be revealed at the end? A brilliant five star read.

This was good. It kept me engrossed throughout the book. I didn't love it, but I did enjoy it.
3 - 3 1/2 starsThis was good. It kept me engrossed throughout the book. I didn't love it, but I did enjoy it.But at times I did think it was a bit slow. And I was not real crazy about the ending. It was kind of like, okay that was the story now I will explain everything to you.Jessica Williams was born in a cult "The Land of Todd" She was rescued twelve years ago by Liam. He helped her reintegrate into the world. Jessica went to college and became a journalist. She became famous when it was found that she plagiarized one of her pieces. While at the airport on her way to Mexico for a vacation, Jessica meets another woman in a bar who has the same name and birthday. She names her Jessica two. As they are parting ways Jessica Two wants to keep in touch so she has Jessica tap their phones so they can have each others contact numbers. But when she gets back from vacation, Jessica discovers that Jessica Two has cleaned out her bank account. In her quest to find Jessica Two, she finds other Jessica Williams that this has happened to. And so she plots a scheme with the help of a couple other Jessica's to set a trap for Jessica Two to get their money back and expose her. But things never go according to plan. This book is told mostly in the present with some flash backs of Jessica's time in The Land of Todd

A super-fast, super-smart read
This was just the book I needed right now. After having read two modern 'literary masterpieces' that bored me to tears, I needed a smartly plotted, energetic read, and Catherine McKenzie delivers that here like never before. Always a dependable writer, I never miss one of her thrillers. If this is your first, you're in for a treat as you discover the others. There are a lot of twists and turns in the book, so I'll let the blurb speak for it for fear that I'll give something away. But you're in for a very clever ride with You Can't Catch Me. Enjoy!

Disappointing
This is the 1st book I've read by this author and it will be the last. It starts out somewhat interesting but then rapidly just becomes a mess. Too many plots and subplots. Makes it difficult to follow and very easy to lose track of what's going on. The last 50 pages are somewhat interesting but then by the end you are asked to believe a ridiculous explanation that supposedly ties up all the loose ends.

Suspenseful
This book had me on the edge of my seat! I literally could not put the book down. The first book that I have ever read by this author. There are a few subplots and the book gets intense at times. I did not want the book to end, and the romantic in me hopes that a sequel is around the corner.

Too many interruptions from the main theme.
The main theme of this novel - a woman's info being stolen from her cellphone - and the resulting search - to catch the thief - made for a good story. I enjoyed that part of this novel, but the backstory of the protagonist's past, was for me an annoying interruption. I didn't feel the necessary empathy for the characters who were introduced in the many backstory chapters. It seemed all the backstory theme was necessary for more word count, or b/c the author couldn't think of a secondary theme.

Only good thing about this book is that it is a quick read
Sloppy writing, shallow character development and frankly boring plot. Don’t do it!

Excellent!!
A great read from the start. Did the writer come from a Cult back ground? If not, great research on the underlying story. I think the incident with J2 would have been much more traumatic for both J's than the book showed. And I wanted an HEA.

Another Incredible Novel by Catherine McKenzie
This is a great thriller about a woman who tries to find and get back at someone who conned her. At the same time, it is a profound story about the protagonist trying to get over a cult and what it did to her. Great read, couldn’t stop reading until I was done!
