Arrow Video Phantasm Boxset [Blu-ray]

This box set of The Phantasm collection is fantastic by Arrow films, the first movie is re-mastered and the other 4 films are just as good in terms of picture quality, also, the audio on all 5 movies is several options of HD DTS of which improves over the DVDS. Lots of extras on all 5 discs and a bonus 6th disc of more supplements IF YOU HAVE THE LIMITED Edition, 5 discs for this release but on this product the extras on the 5 discs are enough to still make this a essential purchase, it's just a shame that the films are not as great as the release itself!Now, a lot of reviewers are saying that this trilogy is the greatest trilogy for Horror films, I DIS-AGREE SO VERY MUCH, IT DOESN'T COME ANYWHERE NEAR THE LIKES of Alien, Evil DEAD, Friday the 13th, Halloween, Hell raiser, living dead, Nightmare on Elm Street, Psycho, Resident Evil, Saw, Scream and The Texas Chain-saw Massacre. Then there are the Masterpieces of The Shining, The Exorcist, Jaws, Rosemary's Baby which all tower above the Phantasm collection. The Phantasm movies are not bad films it's just that there are better Horror films than Phantasm, the Phantasm movies don't make you jump and they are not that scary and I don't remember much shocks through the films so I'm afraid that the Phantasm movies are just average to me.The first movie is good, Phantasm 2 & 3 are a little bit better but the recent and last film Phantasm Ravager just doesn't cut it for me as it's not by the same director and the lead bad guy - The Tall Man (Angus Scrim) died I think just before the release of the film, anyway, Ravager is the weak leak and there should be no more Phantasm movies but you never know, some other actor could be the Tall man with a CGI Angus face on them but I can't see a Phantasm 6 happening anytime soon!So, a great box set from Arrow as usual of which I'M GIVING 5 STARS, BUT UNFORTUNATELY, I'M ONLY GIVING 2 STARS FOR THE FILMS, AS THE TITLE OF MY HEADLINE SAYS - not my FAV Horror franchise, Boooooy not that great a trilogy!!

What a pleasure it was to revisit these films after last seeing them on vhs 🤭 . They've scrubbed up well with some technical tinkering and the 5.1 sound provided a few startled jumps . If you've seen these before you'll love this boxset, if you're new to the franchise you'll love it. I believe thats a win - win 😁HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Delivered on time , first watched PHANTASM when it came out on cinema year's ago , your a fan or not of this cult Drama , hail the ice cream man Reg , upgrade from DVD to Blu-ray ,very happy with boxset 😀👍

Fantastic series. Watched the original when first released. Still stands up well today apart from the obvious 70's fashion. I'd class it as a SciFi/horror cross over.
