German Fighters: Volume 1 - The Messerschmitt Bf 109

I initially bought the book so I could have the benefit of having ME 109 Vols 1 and 2 which were only avail thru 3rd party sellers who wanted insanely high prices for both. Not only was I able to get the benefit of the same excellent variety of profiles and high quality images, I saved a fortune. I also believe that this book contains even more profiles than the original books aforementioned. If you are an ME 109 fan this is the book for you! If only they would reprint their tome on the P 39. Would buy it in a heartbeat.

This book is a fantastic reference book for modelers, airplane and history buffs or anyone interested in this iconic German fighter. The artwork on the various types is well done and very well researched. The pictures are also very good. The authors provide some very good information on squadron and group markings and other interesting information on the markings used during the war. Don't pay much attention to the single negative review. I'm not sure the reviewer actually read the book and if they did their review may be clouded by other factors. Great book and highly recommended.

Did note some new images of certain aircraft, good layout and great color profiles and there is not mucjh more i can say. If you like the German aircraft of WW@ this is a good addition!

Absolutely a great pick for anyone constructing this aircraft as a model.....and deciding on the exterior.

If you are a modeler these two volumes are well worth the money. Details and color plates are fantastic. I hope they carry on this series with other aircraft and nations.

Great book. Felt like I was flying even though I never left my armchair. Being an armchair General without peer, I suited up for combat with a blanket, cup of coffee, a desk lamp and a Do-Not-Disturb sign on my bedroom door (all I need is my mom bothering me while I'm reading, sheesh).From the comfort of my big inflatable chair I direct air battles and pull Immelmans with WW2's greatest pilots.And this book has great pictures, too.These are my 3 favorite aviation art books, all available on Amazon:- Aviation Art by Lou Drendel- Warbirds by Adam Tooby- Great Fighter Jets of the Galaxy 1 by Tim Gibson

I am a published author and translator on Luftwaffe subjects, my two part feature on wilde Sau Bf 109s appears in the current issue of Model Aircraft magazine in the UK. Take it from me that this book and other Luftwaffe subjects in the series are not very well done at all and should be avoided. The artwork is shoddy and amateurish - heavily shaded panel lines were none exist on the real machine, weird banana-shaped fuselages, poorly drawn details. The colours are way off too, not that there is even a colour key in the book. Look, you can see from the jacket images alone that those profiles look nothing like accurate Bf 109s. Far too clunky for words. How the other reviewers can maintain the contrary simply beggars belief .These books were originally designed by a French company for a French-language audience and were based on English-language publications like Osprey. There was/is ultimately little point in offering a translated edition (which this is..) since even Osprey does this sort of thing much better

Ich hab den Kauf bereut, weil das Buch zu 50% aus Parbprofilen besteht, wovon viele eine schlechte Qualität haben oder schlicht weg falsch sind. Schade um das Geld! =(

Ein hervorragendes Buch über sämtliche Variationen und Unterscheidungsmerkmale und und... der Me 109-bester Farbdruck insbes. der Farbschemen-Kauf ist unbedingt anzuraten.
