Norse Mythology for Kids: Tales of Gods, Creatures, and Quests

I bought this a few years ago for my kids . They enjoyed it and I did as well.as someone who was just getting in to norse paganism at the time I really enjoyed the art work and the break down of each storie.you will not be disappointed with this at all.its somthing that is great fro the whole family.

This book has some amazing stories in it. Great for anyone interested in Norse mythology.

Age appropriate with the right amount of oddness and edge. Totally triggers the imagination. The art is gorgeous and creative. Perfect for the entire spectrum of readers- from children who prefer small doses read aloud to them, to parents on the verge of reread-madness, to mini intellectuals who will love the glossary, index, further reading, and references! And for my fellow tactilophilic aesthetes, the book itself satisfies the senses. Buy it, gift it, you won't be disappointed!

I'm sorry, but when you have a book for kids, then you need big glorious pictures for the kids to see and get excited about. You need a picture on every other page! This did not have it. I gave it four stars because the text is good, but took a star off due to the sparse images

This is a wonderful tool for introducing the Norse myths to children and can be a good refresher for adults as well. The chapters are not too long and hold your attention. Dr. Nordvig has included a glossary to help you with pronunciation. There is also a nice reference page for further reading and research if you want more on Norse mythology. The artwork is simplistic, engaging and very colorful. This would make a great gift for Yule or Christmas, I plan of giving a copy to my nephews. I would recommend a hard copy instead of digital to fully appreciate the book especially if you are a tactile person. I look forward to future books of Dr. Nordvig.

Bought this Norse Mythology graphic novel for my grandson. The illustrations are clear and colorful, and true to the short stories of Norse gods and creatures. Perfect for a 10-year-old with Scandinavian roots!

Full of historical knowledge and my son loves it.

My 8 year old daughter loves this book. We would read a story a night until we finished and she started reading it again. He did a great job at getting in as many sagas as he could and having them all more appropriate for children. We love this book and will read it many more times.

A refreshingly new translation of the sagas and myths and not through the Christian lense. Highly recommend!

My son and I are making our way through this right now, and what a lovely little book with beautiful art! He's 10. Some of the stories are slightly variant from the regular stuff out there, which is fine because a lot of those are divergent based on who translated or fear of some of the ideas within. I had really looked forward to an actual Scandinavian perspective on things, which is why I bought this (aside from the fact his other work is amazing, like the Nordic Mythology podcast or books he's done), and I haven't been disappointed at all so far!If you're a parent with who reads to your children every night, you KNOW that there is a delicate balance between reading a captivating or comforting story and just slamming the book shut and telling them to get the f@#% to sleep! Nordvig figured it out with this one. The few stories that are slightly longer are worth it, and the rest are of perfect length and interest to safely render your child unconscious as quickly and effectively as possible.

This book is amazing to help teach children about the Nose Pagan Gods. Has short stories on each with beautifully done illustrations. My boys love learning about their Gods

I bought this book to read to my granddaughter Freya 😊 Beautiful book, with wonderful illustrations and a good "feel" in your hand. Definitely one of those books that can be handed down ❤️
