We're both 65, have back problems, and bought this for our kitchen. I'm glad I researched mats and did not buy a softer one since people with back problems say standing for long periods on the softer ones is actually more tiring. I wish my whole kitchen (we're on a concrete slab) was covered in the CumulusPRO Commercial Couture Strata!! I love it. When I'm working at the counter, and step off of it to get something out of the frig, there is such a difference! My only caution is that it may take awhile to get used to it being there. We have a narrow galley kitchen, and while I have NOT tripped on it as I walk by, it HAS surprised me several times, and I've appreciated the beveled edge. It grips my vinyl floor very securely, but is easy enough to "peel up" and move (I bought the 36" size). It normally stays in front of the sink, but if I'm doing food prep at the counter, I move it over. It's not a "fashion accessory" in my kitchen, but that was not a consideration with me. I figure if I'm having a party, I'll enjoy using it to prep the food and just move it to the laundry room before guests arrive. Then again, I may not. I think my friends will want to try it out! It's easy to clean (no deep pattern on the surface) and seems to be a heavy-duty product that will last. I may actually buy a 2nd one.

I haven't had this mat for very long at this point - probably 2-3 weeks, but it's been great to use in the kitchen. I had always sort of questioned if these mats would really be helpful but it definitely makes a difference while standing for a while preparing food. I'd definitely recommend getting one of these if you stand in one spot for a while in your home.

I bought this for my office desk. My flooring is short fiber carpet and I use the mat to stand behind my stand up desk. Surprisingly the mat moves around on the floor. Nothing is noticeable when standing on the mat but a couple of times per day I have to pick it up and move it 4 to 6 inches sideways and 2 or 3 inches. I have no idea why this occurs but obviously the grip to the floor is lacking something. I spend my day working on a computer, taking phone calls, talking to visitors to my office. Typical day for an office based person. The back of the mat is fairly smooth and not really grippy.

I got this standing mat after a back pain episode months ago. I decided it was time to do a few things to hopefully correct that from happening again, including getting some more comfortable shoes, and standing more at work. Sure, you can get decent standing mats for less than this, but this one is worth splurging for. It looks nice and most of all, feels nice. It doesn't matter if I'm in shoes or barefoot, the mat is firm yet comfy and I definitely noticed an improvement and my willingness to stand more. Big help

Got it for my kitchen. I hand wash dishes and try to do most of my cooking from scratch. I am a full time stay at home mom, and I often spend a lot of time in the kitchen on a concrete slab floor with vinyl flooring. This mat is wonderful. I do wish there were other color choices to match my home's colors but I ordered a second mat days later since I want cushioning not just at the sink but at the countertop as well. May get a third for the stove area. So glad I found this mat!

My husband stands at his desk and loves this mat. He replaced another brand and says that this mat makes a big difference. His back, legs, and feet no longer ache. This mat is perfect for fighting the fatigue and pain that can result from standing at your desk for 8+ hours when you are almost 59 years old....and no doubt people of any age could benefit from standing on this mat. Highly recommend!

I bought this for myself when my company bought standing desks for all the employees. I can't imagine standing all day without it. The only hassle is that it's tall enough that my rolling chair struggles to roll onto it. (My standing desk attachment adjusts from sitting to standing, so I still have a chair.) I don't know that any other mat would be better, so I didn't deduct any stars.

Works well in my new home office with my standing desk. Definitely helps w alleviating feet pain and shin splints when standing up.

Currently using this in conjunction with my sit/stand desk. Unfortunately I don't have another mat to compare this to, nor have I ever tried another one, however I am enjoying this one so far.I have a similar problem to the other reviewer that some of the corners/edges won't lay flat on the floor, but I'm sure it'll settle over time. It's a bit firm for my taste, as (from what I understand) these are supposed to be soft enough to promote some movement so that you're not standing perfectly still.Look and size are great however, and it feels nice to have the lifetime warranty. Overall happy!

Nice product. One corner is not perfectly flat on the ground (therefore only 4 stars), which hopefully will settle over time.

it cost a lot more than the first one i bought but was well worth it. the density of this one is much higher. it is comfortable enough to stand on all day. (or till your legs get tired....) I have a sit/stand desk and this has greatly improved my ability to spend more time standing. I highly recommend this product.

Happy I bought this. Be aware it makes a suction-like attachment to the floor so it requires some effort for a small not strong person to remove from floor i order to clean under and around it. Without the attachment it could slip and slide so it is necessary.

This is a solid mat with some heft to it. Currently using this mat in the kitchen and it works well. The edges do not curl and the mat has a slight tackiness on the bottom that holds it in place well. It is also easy to clean. The dog likes resting on it too. I would recommend this product.
