Fantastic replacement mattress
I couldn't be happier with the purchase. Read further to see if your situation is similar. This mattress is a perfect, great priced, replacement for our 15 year old, saggy beauty rest. It is extremely comfortable. The memory foam top layer feels just like our old memory foam topper we bought to improve our old mattress. We had no problems opening, unfolding, expanding etc.I will say, the mattress is firmer than we are used to. But, we put our old mattress topper on it and that did the trick. I sleep like a rock, sometimes not moving all night. I can also sleep on my side with no trouble. I do sink into the memory foam. You have to know that sinking into memory foam is part of the experience. I like it. If you don't, you might look at mattresses that don't use memory foam. For me, it was a proven technology and it works fine.I got excited when I discovered these mattress in a bag options. I researched Leesa, Casper, Tuft and Needle, then found Resort Sleep. I'm guessing all those others are perfectly good mattresses. But, Resort Sleep was almost half the price of T&N and more than half the price of the rest. And, remember, I was looking for a less expensive alternative to the traditional mattress.I already have the box springs and bed frame. So, this mattress was all I needed. It is a simple replacement. Let's face it, if you are reading this, you are looking for a cheap alternative to buying an expensive mattress. This is exactly my situation. I had an old mattress that could be flipped and both sides had depressions. For years, I have put off getting a replacement because I simply don't believe the story that mattress companies discovered or designed a real non-flippable bed, meaning that it had no need to be flipped. I never saw any research, review, or description that could explain why mattresses would no longer get depressions and therefore didn't need to be flipped. What it looked like was that companies decided to save money by removing the extra materials on one side. I really hated the idea of paying lots of money to a store that was lying to me. Then, along came these new mattress in a box options. True, they don't flip, but, hopefully they won't get the depressions that traditional beds do. And, if it does, I paid 75% less than the non-flipping alternative. If it lasts me five years, I will think it was a great deal. If I was starting from scratch and had to by a frame, the same would be true with any choice, and I still think this mattress would be perfect. Two cautions about ANY mattress in a box.1. Read the box carefully before opening it! Amazon shipped me the wrong mattress. It said king on the box which almost stopped me from opening it. But the packing slip, the order, the order confirmation, etc, all said Cal King. So, I opened it. I should have believed the box. It was a king and completely unusable in my situation. Customer service at Resort Sleep has been great, and, within days, I had the mattress I really want. It wouldn't have been a problem if the box said twin, queen, full. Its was just the king/cal king mix up that got me. READ THE BOX. If it doesn't say what you ordered, send it back before opening. Everything gets way more complicated once its open and you have mattresses standing in hallways, garages, etc.2. I'll be honest, Amazon does not seem to have its act together about returns on these mattresses. Resort Sleep, like all the other mattress in a box companies have return policies. I have no problem with the 30 day return from Amazon for Resort Sleep. After all, this bed is half the price of the other option. But, I did open the box and I did have a king size problem. Amazon promptly refunded the full price and sent me a return label with instructions to put the mattress back in the box it came in and have UPS pick it up. I wrote to them twice and called twice, and talked with three people. That was 5 interactions. 4 of the customer service reps I dealt with had no idea what to do other than tell me to put it back in the box as best I could and ship it back.I reminded each one that we were talking about a king size mattress! I also said that Amazon was selling lots of these, all with generous returns guarantees. There had to be services that pick them up and donate them or something. Not one rep ever heard about or researched that service. Every rep but the last one kept telling me to fold it up and put it in a box, any box, and send it back. The final person I spoke to said by law Amazon could not accept back used mattresses and that I should keep it, throw it away or give it to someone else. I got that in writing in an email. I'm still expecting to hear from the automated system that I didn't return my product in time and they are reinstating my charge. I will try to post what finally happens but it won't be for another month. So, last night, I gave the king mattress to a friend. It took four people working hard to fold it in half and squeeze it into the back of his mini van. It took up every inch of space. Folded up, it filled the back of his van. There is no box big enough or strong enough to contain a king mattress once it expands! The moral of this story is, do your home work, join the revolution and stop buying expensive mattresses, just plan on loving the one you get and don't go through all the hassle of returning it.

Really Good Quality Product at a Great Price
This is our first memory foam mattress. We received it fairly quickly (less than a week from order) and it arrived well packaged/undamaged (we actually missed UPS delivery and went to pick it up at the facility after hours). We opened the mattress the next morning (not really any odor unless you put your nose right on it - then still very faint to me, and I have a very sensitive nose!) and placed it on top of our old boxspring. You can see from the photo that the mattress size is a couple of inches longer (on both ends) than our standard queen boxspring (photo taken about 22 hours after opening). Mattress at full size measures approx. 61"x 81.5" when I measured at the widest and longest. The mattress was about 7 inches thick right when we opened it and got it straight on the bed; within half an hour it was about 8 inches; about 14 hours later it was about 9.25 inches. We slept on it then, and this morning (when I took the pic) I measured it about 9.5 - 9.75 inches. It is slightly curved along the edges (no distinct "corner" or seams along it like a spring mattress, but seemed pretty even as far as thickness and shape all around. 30 hours and it is now at a full 10 inches, as well as 2-3 inches larger all around than our boxspring, though it still fits within the frame if our wooden sleigh bed. (Our standard queen sheets still accommodate the larger/thicker mattress, too.) Since it is still pretty cold (and we keep our thermostat set at about 65-68 I didn't notice the mattress making me any hotter than usual (we also sleep under a heavyweight down comforter and cotton bedspread, & I do complain about being too warm compared to my husband sometimes, but we were both very comfortable.) Our old spring mattress was very, very badly misshaped and worn out, so our first night on this memory foam was of course a huge improvement. I felt very relaxed and my hips did not hurt from sleeping on my side anymore. I am very satisfied with this purchase because of the low price point, convenience of shipping, and all the basic qualities of a memory foam (antimicrobial, hypoallergenic, dust mite resistant), + a 20 year warranty! (As an added bonus, you get the memory foam pillow. My husband tried it last night, but can't decide it is is too firm/thick for him since he sleeps mainly on his back). Since we only slept on it one night, only time will tell whether the memory foam really helps us sleep better & provides better alignment/support. I did notice a lot less movement (I suppose our bedframe may have still moved a bit) when my husband tossed and turned (whereas it always caused me to be near motion sick every time he did on our old spring mattress). Also, I was expecting from some other reviews that the sides would lack support but I found this to not be the case for me as I get up in the morning. I would agree firmness for this mattress is about 6. It feels very soft/cushy on top but also provides a firm base beneath so that you settle in a little but I don't feel as if I have sunk it and can't move. We also received an email from the seller a few days before arrival which I found helpful with a few tips/info about the mattress, as there are some conflicting comments online and in reviews (such as how after arrival you can wait before opening - some said forever but this seller recommended within 72 hours). I wonder if some of the issues with expanding, odors, etc are due to people not following suggested guidelines? I will definitely update if anything changes from this initial review!

7 Year Itch
I bought this mattress exactly 7 years ago for $245. It was my first time buying my own mattress, was very scared to buy one online, even more horrified when they delivered it in a box. This mattress has followed me around for 4 moves. I love it so much. It still is pretty great, no saggy or weird lumps, however I’m in the market for a firmer mattress. Would absolutely have purchased this again if it wasn’t $200 more than when I originally purchased it. Have had over 2,000 wonderful nights of sleep on this thing. Very satisfied with this purchase.
