Great poles - Updated: still great poles
I've had the carbons AT's a little over a year and taken on many day hikes and several week long overnight trips. I love these poles. I started with the aluminum-cork grip poles from Pacemaker and though I prefer the cork grip the carbon ones are my favorite. Something about the weight and carbon material soften the connection to the ground really do it for me. Wouldn't hesitate to get these again and are at half the cost of other carbon poles I've tried that are no better. Grip feels like it won't last but so far of regular use there's been no signs of wear or cracking. First couple of uses left some black residue but now nothing.Follow-up November 8, 2017Poles are still my go-to. Have another 250 miles on them with mix of AT section hikes and shorter day hikes. Foam grips still holding up fine - only complaint is on the hotter days they get a little slick with sweat.I also weighed them finally and came out exactly 0.50 lbs or 8 oz and that includes pole, strap and ball type feet attached.Follow-up February 4,2018Still holding up with little signs of wear. Many miles and day hikes since last trip with next AT trip being planned for the spring. Grip is still holding well with no residue or black material coming offI’ll probably order a second pair for my son as his aluminum pair will go to his brother who’ll be joining our next trek.Follow-up September 2020I’m still on my original set. There’s some wear on the grips but overall still hanging in there. For the amount of use I’ve put them through I couldn’t be happier. The clamp setting still hold well and the feet are still attached. I may buy a second set just to have as backups but see these originals lasting at least another season.Follow-up May 2022Gearing up for another AT section at the end of the month. My 12 year old is joining the group and will be purchasing a set of these for him. He's outgrown his kid's set. Mine are still going strong with hundreds of miles now. The foam is wearing a little but nothing too bad. Overall extremely pleased.

Love the Superlight Weight
Just received, will update once I use them. I hike up to 10 miles about once a week, so not a long distance hiker but I have back issues and need support. These really only weigh 6.7 oz each (my kitchen scale) without attachments except handle. With the very useful and sturdy looking 'rubber feet', they weigh 7.4 oz each. They are a pleasure to hold because of the light weight. They do feel sturdy. The grip feels very comfortable. These do not have the lower foam rubber sleeves many poles have. They are really easy to put together and adjust. I searched thoroughly online and these are by far the lightest poles, easiest to assemble, I came across. With the 39.95 price, it was a no brainer to pick these. I like that they come with a one year warranty and the manufacturer sells replacement attachments. I will update my review after I use them.Update: 03/30/2022: Used them on a number of 5 to 15mile hikes and still, love them. No problems, so light.

Best trekking poles ever!
I purchased these poles so I could walk as a part of my physical therapy for lower back/hip problems and a weakened core. I needed something that would be comfortable in my hands, work on multiple kinds of surfaces, and stay at the height I wanted without "slipping." The special tips on these poles are marvelous!! The grips are comfortable. The poles are super light and easy to navigate. My hands slip in and out of the hand grips easily (and are adjustable if I desire a different fit). I am super excited about every feature. I have used other poles. These are the BEST I've come across.

My weight measurements of the AT-6
The PaceMaker's website (and Amazon's - though I missed it the first time) claims that the poles weigh 6oz each. Here are my measurements (one pole weights):Pole - 6.6 oz - without tip ball or baskets. Why the difference from PaceMaker site's claim? My guess is the strap weight was not included in PaceMaker's numberHard surface slip-on tip - 1.0 ozRough surface screwed on basket - 0.2 ozSnow basket screwed on - 0.4 ozThe poles are designed for either right or left hands - not single handed as some Leki and Black Diamond models are.I have not used them yet - as these are my first as I was told by my doctor that I better start using hiking poles .....

Great product
I have hiked with these poles approximately 700 miles and they're still going strong. They are a great pole, especially for the price. The carbon fiber is light and shock absorbing. The clamps hold and have not broken. The rubber feet have been durable and are still in good shape. The poles will collapse and fit in my carry-on 36 liter backpack. The foam handles are showing a little wear but still in great shape, and straps are still great. Highly recommend as a decent priced set of poles.

Only complaint is that the straps have some sharp points where they taper (nylon is melted to prevent fraying). These get very irritating on long hikes.

Very light and durable but the grips are very cheap foam material which leave your hands black. I have hiked roughly 20 miles and the grips are starting to split. Do not buy these.
