Winter Nativity Scene German Advent Calendar

This calendar is a beautiful freestanding nativity scene made in Germany by Richard Sellmer Verlag, a company that has been making advent calendars since my father-in-law served in WWII. You open a door daily, to reveal an artfully designed picture which corresponds to a bible verse written on the back of the door. If it’s candy or trinkets that you seek, you should purchase another style of advent calendar. We often get a Lego advent calendar, in addition to this style:-) However, if you enjoy the tradition of counting down the days until Christmas with a charming picture and matching Scripture, I highly recommend this calendar, or one of the many calendars made by Sellmer Verlag.

A beautiful Advent calendar, good quality and lovely illustrations.

I was disappointed in the calender. It was made in Germany, but it looked cheap and flimsy. The graphics were crude. Also, we could barely read the messages in the doors, being so tiny!
