This kit is actually an excellent waterproofing high voltage splice kit that's reasonably priced! Yay!
Worked exactly as the OEM described and appears to be permanent and waterproof over a, immersed 120 VAC electrical cord. As this splice sits on the edge of a bird bath in the water and attaches an extension cord to a bird bath deicer, and as the birds really appreciate not being electrocuted AND having water to drink, I think it's a good thing! We'll see how it holds up to pretty cold weather (of course it's plugged into a GFCI - I'm not a total animal) and hopefully, and in spite of the deicer's manufacturer only putting SIX INCHES OF CORD on their heater, this till be a permanent solution to a problem I've had of "how to waterproof the plug - in the water - for the bird bath deicer".So far it's great!
