Classy Caps Imperial Solar Post Cap - Black SLO82B – Fits 2"x2", 2.25"x2.25", and 2.5"x2.5" Post Sizes, High-Performance Solar LED, Durable Cast Aluminum Construction, Warm & Cool Light Modes

These were the most expensive post cap lights I saw, but the only one I could find that fit 2.5x2.5 and was metal and classier looking. That said - they fit perfectly, look great and seem higher quality than the cheaper plastic ones. Snug and tight so they won't be coming off in the wind. (My 2.5 post is metal and painted with 1 coat of paint). Easy to setup, just twist and remove top, turn on the power switch and remove the plastic tab on battery, and it is good to go. But wait... it didn't fit 2.5 and I freaked. Then I realized, the metal downsize ring to make it fit 2.0 was inserted into the base and it WAS NOT obvious because it is a nice metal size adapter the same color as the main base. A little pressure popped that size ring out and it slid right onto my post. There is a second size adapter in the package, so don't freak when you don't notice the one in the base already. Had them for two months and they charge and light up all night. I do live in Seattle, so I expect cloudy days will affect performance like all my other solars.Note this is a bright white light not a cool white light. Many solar yard lights are cool white (almost yellow). I would have preferred a cool white, but just couldn't find it in this size cap. Debating if I should find some light cellophane to go over the bulbs and cool the white color down. Nothing wrong with the way they are, jus don't match the other cooler white lights I have on my patio furniture and yard. But my guests have said they look great as is and like the brighter white contrast along the railing these sit on.

I wanted something nice looking, quality made, with soft lighting to compliment my newly installed fence. I didn’t know what I was looking for, so I searched and searched and stumbled on these. I liked them, so I bought 2 to test them out. They worked BETTER than described because with full sun for one WHOLE winter day (about 9 hours) they stayed on all night and never dimmed or turned off for about 11 hours. I bought another two. 1 did not work out of the box but after an email to the seller and a response within a few hours I was shipped a replacement that was perfect. Ever since then I felt it safe to purchase 11 more to line every other post on either side of our yard. It’s been about 2 weeks since I installed the 11 and they’ve worked EVERY single night, ALL night long. I’ve attached 2 pictures; one at dawn from the woods looking into my yard and the second from our security camera with a view of the walking path between my house and our neighbors. If your looking for lighting for your aluminum fence. This is it! :)

This product has only been on our fence for one day. They look great and seem to work perfectly. I’d given this product 5 stars had there been a section added to the instructions regarding the adapter application.If you need to use the provided adapter to fit your fence post, instruction steps to attach this adapter are missing from the instruction pamphlet.I did post a question for help in this area to no avail. Answers received did not resolve my question. Though, all the replies were appreciated.I have since posted pictures of the process used to successfully fit the adapter. Once the “ah ha” moment Turned on “💡💡💡”, it was an easy fix. See the 5 pics of the steps I took. BTW, I unscrewed and removed the fence post fitting housing frame from the base of the item. You do not necessarily need to unscrew this part. Simply, this made it easier to manipulate the standard size (2.5 x 2.5) post fitting out of its housing frame. Then, the adapter (2 x 2) fitting was placed inside the housing frame. Finally, the housing with the 2 x 2 adapter was reattached to the base.

I bought 4 of these to put on the stair rails leading down from the back of my deck a year and a half ago. They work excellent and are a good quality unit. I don't know why there are so many bad reviews, the product does not deserve it (most of them sound pretty lame or overly picky, imo). No, they are not super bright, they are accent lighting, not reading lamps. But they are plenty bright to illuminate your way down stairs or along a walkway, and they look fantastic from across the yard. I wouldn't want them any brighter. I was so impressed by them I put 4 more around my deck railing. If I needed more I would buy these again. I will admit that the battery charge doesn't last more than a few hours in the winter months (4-5), when the sun is lower and up fewer hours, which is understandable since they are solar dependent, afterall. However, when it's cold out, I don't spend much time outside at night, anyway. But in the summer months, they last all night. Overall I'm plenty happy. I have no problem giving 5 stars.

I have had one of these operating on a gate post since 2017 in New England, where it gets very cold and snowy in winter and can get hot and humid in the summer. Worked OK, but I found after the 1st year that it works better (light lasts longer at night) by removing the AA NiCd battery that came in the unit and replacing it with an AA NiMH battery.

Pricier that most other LED lights, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of options in this size range for square metal railing posts. Pay attention to other reviewers comments regarding the sleeves which make it compatible with three different post sizes; 2", 2.25", and 2.5" square fence posts. Even knowing this ahead of time, it still took a bit of head-scratching to figure it out. It comes preassembled with the 2.25" "sleeve" inserted and the fit is so good that it's not readily apparent that there's even a sleeve installed. Eventually popped it out, inserted the 2" adapter and was good to go. A very elegant look on our metal fence posts along the front stoop. Ordered this first unit as a trial and now going to complete the project with three more. Last thought, you will need to use a little construction adhesive to hold them in place; there is no set-screw or means to secure them to the posts. They sit solidly, but would be knocked off if someone leaned up against them.

Price is higher than I'd like, match my fence posts, nice looking, but the only thing I'm worried about is the quality of the actual Solar panel lasting down her in south Texas due to the heat.
