This hat has good material and the ventilation is unique. It is a rather large hat. I wear a 7 3/4 or a 21-22cm hat and this hat is large. I had to take up the adjustment quite a bit to get it sized properly. The only problem I had was with the toggles that hold the bungies for the brim. When I re-positioned the bungies for a lower profile, the thin plastic for one of the toggles broke. I can see stress fractures in the others. I remedied it by just using super glue to repair the plastic and knotting the end of the bungie through the hole because, while I found the spring, the inner plastic went shooting off into the unknown. For a rather expensive boonie hat, I would think the manufacturer would use better components.

Great boonie hat, adjustment band would acomidate out to a 8 Inch hat size, quality material and stitching, love the hard to find Dutch style flectarn pattern exactly matched my miltec BDU set in same pattern. I have several boonies made in China, USA and Dominican Republic but I feel this is the best I own. Fast shipping for distance and professional service.

This is expensive for a boonie, but the construction is excellent. The material is very lightweight but not flimsy, and sewing is precise and seems strong. I really appreciate the adjustable size, that works well. I did not need the three sets of paracord so removed the two side ones, and will probably cut off the cord locks, but these would be great for attaching brush or cloth camo strips. It's a highly functional and well built hat. The availability of Russian camo patterns is kind of cool -- I have pogranichnik, which blends really well in high forests here in southern Montana. I've worn this as a sun hat on long trail runs, it has performed well, even in rain and hail storms (it's not a rain hat though).And unusually fast service, given that it came from Russia. Red Bear seems like a good outfit.

This is actually better than I thought it would be. I've always liked a boonie hat and this one has enough attachment points to make a bonnie hat, and it's shape, disappear. I am a little conflicted about one thing. There is a mess around the sides that allow ventilation. In the heat that is a good idea I suppose, if it rains, not so wonderful. On the other hand the mess is handy if you are using thread like a ghillie suit. One thing I think is great is the elastic cords. One goes around the head to help make sure the hat stays on in the wind. Three more are in the front which help the brim's position. A nice touch if you are wearing it while shooting a rifle. I am not sure if it would be helpful for a bow hunter or not.

Nice Booney hat for sure, comes as a one size fits all. If you have a small head this will seem way to big, just use the bungie on the back and sinch it up.

Hands down, this is absolutely the best made boonie hat I've ever handled, owned or worn. The cheap Chinese-made Rothco boonies that are supposedly issued to US troops can't even compare. You get what you pay, folks. The materials are top notch as well as the craftsmanship. I can't find a single fault with this hat and I'm very picky. It also arrived much sooner than the estimate given.
