Want to Learn More About Using Your Fuji X-T1 Camera?
Understand, this is a five star rating for a particular group of users. If you are a novice, or trying to learn more about photography after a few years of shooting and now have a Fuji X-T1, this book can present a lot of good information (along with tips) in a very clear way. If you are an expert photographer, this book is not for you: an expert photographer can get all this information in slightly more succinct form dihectlyly from the X-T1 user manual. But if you are in the earlier groups, from novice to enthusiast, and have a new X-T1, this book can really give you a great presentation of the ins-and-outs of all types of shooting with this unusual camera, a camera that has caught the attention of many, many people, and has even caused quite a number of individuals who have previously shot with larger, heavier professional equipment to switch to the Fuji "X" line. The book is written in clear, direct prose, is visually well laid out, and is printed on fairly heavy weight semi-gloss paper. The book is also printed in full color, which is very nice and makes using the book more pleasurable. The book is not terribly long, some 175 pages or so, but it presents the information it needs to in sequential fashion. And, in contrast to Fuji's own users manual, it has an INDEX (yea!) -- honestly, as good as Fuji equipment is, and is REALLY is, who in their right mind would put together a users manual for a camera link the X-T1 without an index? (One can only scratch one's head.) At any rate, this is a great book for those that fall in the target audience, and there's a lot one can learn from it. I look it as a supplement, and possibly, a replacement, for the X-T1 users manual. Five Stars.

Great info on XT1 and Digital Image Making!
After a long hiatus (as film died, so had my passion for photography), I have returned to the land of light drawing. In my search for something I could understand, I found the XT-1 and its lenses with f-stop rings and bodies with mechanical shutters... something important to an old grognard as myself. I decided to go back to my original passion, and found that digital held its own secrets, its own photographic language, and this piqued my interest. This book not only covers the basic concepts one should learn to excel in photography, but also, and in plain clear speech, covers those digital nuances that will help those who want to excel in the digital realm. A great read... so glad I bought the book. Highly recommended.

The Ultimate Companion To Your Fuji X-T1
This book is what the X-T1's User Guide should have been. I've been shooting with my new Fuji for a few months and thought I had it all figured out. Wrong ! Within just the first half of "X-Pert Tips" I picked up over a half dozen new settings that have made life better. I suspect there will be many more recommendations I'll accept as I finish this book. Rico writes in an easy to read, straightforward manner and he is ultra careful to show you how to navigate the very comprehensive Fuji menu. In short, unless you are a Fuji engineer you should buy this guide. My only regret is that I did not purchase it sooner. So hats off to you, Rico ! Slainte !

Great reference in addition to the manual
This is an older revision of the book, and I bought it only as an additional reference. Physically, the pages are crisp and thick and the binding is good. The content is well organized and is a good complement to the owners manual that comes with the camera. The print quality id superb. Content-wise, there are a lot of information that would have otherwise not be mentioned in the manual (you can google it if you know what you're looking for) but a neat package containing essentials in one place is a good deal to me, considering the price.

Great Tips, but hard to find them - Get your highlighter ready
This is a good book for XT-1 users. However as expert tips I have to weed through a bunch of general photography knowledge material just to find camera specifics. And its not like you can just skip parts that seem familiar as all the gems are buried. This makes this book hard to use on a practical level and will require several reads and camera time. For example, there is an entire section on using JPG+RAW presenting arguments for the case. Most of this applies to any photography, but buried in there is specifically what the camera does better for internal JPG than post processing allows.Over all, the gems of Fuji specific data are worth the purchase, just expect that you would have to work for them. Save your self a lot of time on the second read, highlight the good stuff as you go. The Author would help us all if there were a couple of pages in an appendix which just pointed out the gems and cross referenced some page numbers for more info.

Solid read with very useful tips...
Usually I don't get too worked up about camera books as most are boring. However, this one I couldn't put down as Rico approaches the task at educating the readers differently with a zeal toward revealing the tips he has discovered. At least I found them interesting, then again I'm not a pro, just an enthusiast. Also, probably the only camera book I will definitely read again in the very near future.Everyone has a learning curve and where they are in that curve. Even though I've owned a dozen or more cameras, including FF, I still learned enough special tips for using my X-T1 to make the book worthwhile.kd

This is a good tool for drilling into some of the lessor known functionalities of the XT1 . Easy to jump around in the book using the index. Not a replacement for the manual but very useful in addition to it.

this little volume is full of practical knowledge and tips for the use of this excellent camera, and is written in such a way ..
As the author notes: This book doesn't replace the X-T1 camera manual: it builds on it as an enhancement to the existing user manual . . . ". That said, this little volume is full of practical knowledge and tips for the use of this excellent camera, and is written in such a way as to be readily readable by anyone wanting a fuller understanding of its use.The book joins the camera, lenses and instruction manual in my camera bag as a quick go-to if needed, and that is often enough for one operating at my level. Well worth the price of purchase!

Understand the X-T1s deep menu easily.
I purchased this book to help me with my Fujifilm X-T1, it compliments Rico Pfirstinger's 'Mastering the Fujifilm X-Pro1 which I also have. The results I've been getting from the X-T1 are truly amazing. JPEGs and RAW files out of this camera are scoring between 18 and 20 at my camera club.I love this camera so much I wanted to dig deep into the menus and understand so much more about it, the Fuji user guide does not help you do that. The title '111 Expert Tips' is just that and a lot more. If you think you know everything about the X-T1, then good for you, but I know that a lot of the information in the book surprised me, it's not in the user guide.Rico Pfirstinger has produced in my view an outstanding book, and I thank him for that. I started reading the book today, moments after it arrived, and already I've discovered three new settings I plan to use tomorrow when I go into London, the book is very well written, it's a dive in reference book or a full read, from the little I've read today this book is going to drive me on to understand every feature in all the menus on this relatively new camera. It's all here. The index runs to 4pp, the printing is excellent, in colour too, the printer has managed to control the colour accurately throughout the book, the paper quality and perfect binding is of the highest quality, the cover board is either laminated or gloss varnished, I'm not sure which, sometimes it's difficult to tell, but again it's quality, and I should know as I've been a print manager for nearly 30 years. Is it worth £14.99 ? It's worth more to me than that, this author will help me gain a deeper understanding of my Fuji X-T1.The X-Pro1 took me away from full frame, and the X-T1 confirms I made the right choice, as long as Fuji keep on providing firmware up-dates to the body and lenses, which I know they will, and continue making all metal lenses of the highest quality, and authors like Rico Pfirstinger providing great material to support the Fujifilm cameras , lenses and accessories, I will continue to support Fujifilm and continue to produce outstanding quality pictures.Thank you Rico Pfirstinger.
