It’s good and bad.
Pros: Stakes down easy. Holds solid and seed in place. Easy to roll out.Cons: Heavy to move around at first. Hard to cut. Does not deteriorate in 4-5 months. The green mesh was still very there 6 months later and I ended up having to do my best to pull up as much as I could because it kept getting wrapped around my mower blade.

if you know what to do, this stuff makes seeding your lawn much more efficient
I needed to reseed part of my lawn on a slight slope that had a lot of afternoon harsh sun exposure. This product helped with both retaining moisture and preventing run-offs. When you unroll it, just be sure to go slowly and it's quite easy. Had I needed to use the entire roll at once, I could have unrolled it within 5-10 minutes. One thing I've noticed is that if I didn't water enough or there wasn't enough of rain, the Curlex could be too light and get pushed up by the young grass. Once it's wet enough, the weight will hold it down and the grass will push through.

Does not break down!
This was mostly easy to lay out. I would have preferred if there was a clear start to the roll, we just had to rub the thing all over until we found a loose part then kind of pull in a messy uneven ripping method until we had something the full width of the roll. Not easy and wasteful but not a deal killer. It lays out easily abs was exactly big enough for our project so I was happy about that. After 90 days in the sun in the middle of summer this showed exactly zero signs of breaking down. The fishing line net that provides the structure is still very solid and even the straw is still holding strong. If you’re looking for the worlds most durable straw netting then this is the item for you!If you’re looking for something biodegradable that you won’t have to go pull up later….then this is not the product to buy. I just had to go pull it all up and throw it away after it’s been down for three months with no sign of breaking down or decay.

Keeps the soil
It was easy to roll out; cut and covered a large amount of area.

Keeps grass seed in place and soil wet
Helps to keep soil and place and grass moist so that it grows. My only complaint is that I cannot afford enough for my 2 acre site.

Easy to install and effective erosion control.
This product is standing up to the wettest winter we have had in Southern Indiana. We had foundation work done on our house this fall which left a lot of dirt espoused with no grass cover. Plus the fact that we have an eleven month Border Collie puppy who runs at Mach speed around the yard, has led to a muddy mess around here. We laid down both rolls easily and in the most muddy areas. We will need to get at least another roll to finish covering all the mud. The fabric is holding up to the dog running over it and tons of rain. The little spikes were easy to push in but of course it is muddy and nothing is frozen right now.

Great stuff!
This is great stuff! I used it last year to hold seed on a hill surrounding my property and this year on flat ground where I’ve had trouble growing grass because I have 3 dogs that like to run and play. Worked great in both applications! The roll is bulky - and it can be a little difficult getting the roll started. But I certainly can’t complain about how well it works or the final results!

NOT! biodegradable after 4 months.
If you’re looking for something biodegradable that you won’t have to go pull up later….then this is not the product to buy. Installed last October, grass 5-6" high; still unable to string trim or mow over without tangling on equipment. Imagine I am going to have to try pulling the material up.
