The key here is "as expected". Because when you are talking about a fake beard from Amazon knitted to a hat, a person really shouldn't expect theater quality props. As a fun gag gift for my annual poker party however, it was a hit. Probably won't improve my warmth in the winter up here in the far Northern hemisphere. Maybe North Face will consider a fake beard attachment for their skull caps!
