The American Yawp: A Massively Collaborative Open U.S. History Textbook, Vol. 1: To 1877

It's layout makes it easy to read. It contains history information that is missing from some newer history books. If you like history, you would enjoy this book.

I teach this book at the local college. Although it is a survey book, it is quite compehensive and well written. It is available online for free (digital), but its always nice to have a hard copy. I recommend for anyone interested in American History.

Our resident grandson needed this book for his AP Literature class. Got him talking for ten minutes about the subject of the book and why it was chosen for his class.

The book is in pretty good condition. Only complaint is that there was either dirt or dust stuck to the edges of the pages. It was quite frustrating trying to wipe it off.

This book offers a fresh perspective to the history of the United States. Very well put together with resources for online viewing as well.

I purchased this textbook for college, however, after class started I was informed that the e-version is available for free on their website. It's good to have the book and it was fairly cheap as far as college textbooks go, but the most up to date version is available for free.
