On the one hand this lid costs a pretty penny. On the other hand, certainly this year, the wind always seems to be strong when I want to use my mini Lotus grill. I took the plunge and am pleased with the results. It’s a sort of oven dome to retain heat. There remains an air gap between the grill metal and the base of this lid but it still retains heat and results in more even cooking. Some additional thoughts - the lid is reported to be dishwasher safe. That’s always a bonus. To be safe, I unscrew the thermometer built into the lid before the rest goes in the dishwasher. It’s a simple thumbscrew so removal is a doddle - the thermometer is useful. You can be sure that the coals are lit, or not as the case may be, and your food is cooking effectively - think about how you will transport the lid. It’s glass and has no cover. I made a sleeve from bubble wrap but it is far from satisfactory All-in-all, if you love your Lotus grill (it’s not really a barbecue) and your philosophy is “you only live once”, then to hell with the expense and buy the glass dome.

Arrivato un pò in ritardo ma con un buon imballo. Prima della scoperta di questo coperchio non ero soddisfatto della Lotus Grill, ma una volta provato le cotture hanno completamente cambiato sia in velocità di cottura che di omogeneità di cottura. Der Deckel ist absolut nützlich und man kann so den Lotus grill für eigtl alles nutzen. Der Preis ist aber definitiv für einen "Deckel" zu hoch.
