Birthday present for my friend, looks great hope she likes it

I’ve bought this as a Christmas gift for my mother as she likes chunky and colourful necklaces. The necklace looks lovely but the smell of it is just awful. I just don’t get why it stinks. It smells like someone who has just done a 3 hour gym workout has rubbed their armpit with it (no joke) and the box it came in stinks too. I’ve had to rub the necklace down with an anti bac wipe and spray it with perfume and it still doesn’t smell perfect. I’m just hoping the smell dissipates by Christmas Day.
