Functions just as advertised. I seen reviews stating it doesn't work at all or you can't change the colors. The tip of the pin (nib), for each color, has a protective coating. Remove it before attempting to use. For changing colors or using the pencil function, hold the deviance horizontal with the color you want, or 0.7 for pencil, facing up, just as described. EPLS

For the last 30 years I have used LAMY tri-pens. I thought I would try one of these pens (which a lot cheaper). I found the pen to be great, choice of pen/pencil/colour is perfect if you follow the simple instructions. Great value, good quality

I know it might sound insignificant to some people, but you might have noticed how many of these 4-in-1 and 3-in-1 pens have indicators that say "Red", "Black", "Blue", etc instead of just marking it with a colored dot of a corresponding color. It might sound insignificant, but I had an old pen of a similar design that did have that style of marking and it looked neat and tidy, so I just wanted to buy another one that looks similar: apparently, that's now next to impossible. Every pen you can find on amazon will have "Red"/"Black" etc written on it, and this model right here is literally the only product I could find that has colored markings on the product image, so this is why I ordered it. However, when the pen arrived, it looked exactly like every other one with words on it instead of markings, which does not match the image. I think it might be a patent issue or something, but this product claims to have colored markers, but instead is shipped like every other pen of this design with written markers instead, which might sound like a minor thing, but I don't think it's acceptable to mislead about the exact look of the product.
