Easy to use, good quality. Single beep if you're within an inch on either side and a double beep when you're dead on.

I had a johnson rotary level and reciever. The reciever would work intermittent , take batteries out and wait a few hours. I got sick of that. Looked up a replacement reciever, the same exact, and it was 140.00. This one was cheaper and it works flawlessly. It feels more robust. I have a display in both sides. The beep is loud incan hermit over my equipment. Definitely recommend. I hope it outlasts the johnson. Very happy. Now I can get back at it without the wait.

it works as described. I cannot for the life of me figure out the difference with this tool between the rough grade feature and the final grade function, but whatever

When this laser detector arrived, I put batteries in it and it worked with my DeWalt laser level. I used it to check the grade of my driveway. It was dark at night and it worked 30 feet from the laser level.When I tried to use it in daylight on a job site, it would not work beyond 2 feet. I waited for the sun to set, it worked to 20 feet.I used a pine stick and could see the green laser light 150 feet away, in daylight. The target indicator (not electronic) worked just as well at 150 feet.

Detector works well. Only complaint is the battery it came with (9v) lasted 15 minutes and was dead! Why even send a battery with the unit?

I bought this laser detector to replace a Johnson 40-6715 detector. I'm pleased with the detector's build quality and accuracy. The tones for high, low and on station are clear and loud enough to be heard on a job site. I haven't had it long enough to judge its durability. I would buy again.

Works just as good as the higher end one that stopped working. Definitely satisfied.
