Chuck: The Complete Series Collector Set (DVD)

I must make this confession: I didn't discover this show until September 2017 via a YouTube clip. Now I have been on YouTube for years and never saw a Chuck anything before so out of curiosity I clicked on that clip and was immediately captured by it's quality. So I searched for more clips and the show just drew me in further and further and I eventually asked myself, "How did I not know about this fantastic show???" I decided to buy the full series and I am so very glad I did. It has a wide variety of genres: Comedy (of various kinds), drama (that is often times deep and sometimes tragic), love story, and profound character interaction -- I could go on and on.There are some well recognized guest stars that populate this show such as Linda Hamilton, Timothy Dalton (check out his interview on what he found unique about this series), and Scott Bakula to name a few. But it is the regular cast that the real strength of the show. The characters -- every one -- has depth; you really care for them. Even what some would call secondary characters like Big Mike, Lester, Jeff, and Anna are anything but written and acted like they are secondary. The producers and writers did a great job here.Yvonne Strahovski as Sarah - Chuck's (Zachery Levi) CIA handler and eventual love interest - is absolutely amazing in her ability to convey emotion and feelings through her eyes and facial expressions. But I also noticed Sarah Lancaster who play's Chuck's sister Ellie is a fine actress in her own right in emotional expression. Then there is Adam Baldwin as John Casey, NSA agent, who has some of the best one-liners in the show and some very weighty insights. I could go on but this is getting long enough.Honestly, I look at what is offered today on TV/Cable and the majority are hard pressed to match Chuck's quality of story and character development. So much today is dark in nature and though Chuck has some dark times it is balanced with it's comedy, love, a well developed characters, and fun plots. You will NOT be bored.One other thing to keep in mind: the show does develop over time and if you are like me it seems to happen too fast in certain aspects. But I had to remind myself that I can easily watch all shows back to back to back forgetting that I am cramming 5 seasons (5 years worth) in a very short time. So come join the Chuck fan base. My wife loves the show just as much as I do and I plan on telling others. Zachery Levi wants to do a 2 hour Chuck movie which is needed (the entire cast is on board with this; they want to do it). I hope though that he does more though like what the Duffer brothers have done with Stranger Things. The more Chuck the better.

Chuck is everything what you want from good tv show, action, comedy, romance. For me the best tv show ever. 🥳

Finally a fun spy movie that doesn't have blood and violence everywhere. Chuck is a great series and has excellent writing and acting. Split between spy drama and comedic interludes, This series had us binge watching for weeks! Zachary Levi is lovingly adorable in this as he tries to find his way in the spy world and living a normal life. It is a clean family show with no cussing or too much bloodshed. However as the series continued it had some dark moments I wasn't too fond of. I'm glad it didn't dip into the abysmal darkness like Star wars and so many other shows that drop into the occult. Chuck remains light-hearted even through the dark places. I'd say anyone over 10 or 12 to 112 would enjoy the show. We watched it on Amazon and finally bought the series knowing we would come back to it in the future.From what I understand the cast and crew are wanting to get together again and make a new sequel. I think that would be great!

After a hard day's work, I often enjoy watching a light-hearted TV series. When Chuck first appeared, this fit the bill. I laughed at the characters' zany escapades and their hilarious how-do-I-get-out-of-this situations. How can you not love the innocence and dedication of Chuck and his sweet, supportive sister; or the skills and support of the two agents assigned to protect Chuck, especially the female agent with her attractive form and feminine appeal; or the likeableness and antics of Chuck's friends and others close to him? If you like TV series that have adorable characters, suspense, action, and a flare for comedic situations, I would recommend this Blu-Ray series that includes all five seasons. However, if you watch this for the first time and become involved, do not be surprised about the ending. I did not like it, but do not let that stop you from purchasing this fun-filled series. Despite the season finally, you will thrill over the other episodes.

Bought this after I discovered it had been removed from amazon prime (it's still available, but you now have to pay extra for it which to me just seems ridiculous!) and it came down to a pretty good price. This show helped me through a really tough period of my life and to this day it still makes me feel better whenever I watch. Definitely recommend this so anyone who is considering giving it a watching... You won't regret it! It's goofy, it's fun, doesn't take itself too seriously and has an incredible cast. Honestly without giving anything away it has one of the best storylines/arcs (whatever you wanna call it idk) and if there is ever a Chuck movie or reboot then I would actually cry with happiness. If not, at least I'll always have this boxset to revisit Chuck whenever, wherever.

Started watching a few episodes on TV ,Liked the dynamic between action (quite brutal at times)comedy (relates to one's own life)and romance. This got me hooked and decided to go full tilt and bought the five season version. A decision I have not regretted . Like other's I fell in love with Yvonne Strahovski as described by the producer as stunning I totally agree. But then getting into the series I had strong feeling's for the rest of the cast. Adam Baldwin as John Casey is brilliant I wont go into details of plot but you realise what a good actor he is by the end of the run. The rest of the Cast are not just propping up the main character they are integral to the whole story. Guest stars are abundant so look out for them. Any way It's so good I have watched the whole 91 episodes and extra's and now watching again. Guest stars are abundant Would I recommend this DVD set Hell YES with the excellent extra's it makes it a worthwhile buy even if you just watched it on TV.

I really enjoyed this programme.The story is good but it takes a whole season to actually get a real sense of plot progression.All the episodes of the first few seasons are pretty much the same. You could watch the first 5 minutes, skip to the last 10 and you would know the same amount of information as watching the whole 45 mins.As the seasons progress, this changes which is good.I loved Yvonne Strahovski. She was by far my favourite character for obvious reasons and more. She shined amongst them all.I really disliked the complicated relationship that she and chuck have throughout.So far I've only listed the bad things but the programme is very very enjoyable. It's really hard not to like it.I have to say, I really liked this programme and I'm sad that it's over.Despite its flaws, I have to give this 5 stars. I just have to.Brilliant.

The spy romance with some comedy tells the story of Chuck, a computer nerd at an electrical store and Sarah, an agent with the CIA. They fall in love, but face a constant battle against individuals and organisations trying to separate them or kill them. The struggle to maintain the relationship continues to the last scene of the last episode.With the box set there is no need to wait to see what happens next, unlike TV, it is just how to find enough time.The picture quality of season 1 and 2 is not as good as I would expect, but later DVD's are better. This has been mentioned by other reviewers.

This was a gift for my 18yr old as he has been unwell for some time. It was the best gift I could have purchased. It definately is aimed at that age group and for those who have a rather unusual senseof humour. It has caused him to laugh out loud so many times, a sound I have not heard for quite some time. A greatgift if you wish to cheer someone up, but be prepared for that person to watch it on a loop!
