If spins unstably+loud grinding sound, but spline looks ok, try replacing hall sensor vs rotor
Have an LG washer model WM2101H. After 10 yrs and out of the blue, the spin cycle started making loud grinding sounds out of the ordinary. Decided to not turn it off and rather observe it. While it could still spin, it started having a smoky smell, so turned it off, drained the filter, waited a day, ran it on no load, and the same thing occurred. Ran another attempt, and although it could sort of spin, the spin was unstable, noisy, and again smelled smoky. No LE error or any other code showed up, so after researching spin issues, thought we needed to replace the rotor assembly (part #4413ER1003A at about $100). After doing so, the spin did seem to improve at first during a no load cycle, but after some minutes, the rotor seemed to be torquing or fighting the magnetic field rotation. It would move toward spinning, stop, lock up, and make “zzzz” sounds. Finally, the LE code popped up on the screen. After researching, we decided to replace the hall sensor a.k.a. as position sensor. Ordered this part #6501KW2002A at about $25 and installed it. The washer has worked great through several washes.Sometimes the LE error code doesn’t immediately show up, so if your machine appears to be spinning unstably, but still spinning, and you hear sounds like a low buzz or “zzzz”, first remove the back cover and check that the rotor assembly center hole, or spline, is not worn out. Ours was in decent shape and still had its edges although with some dark dusting on them. If it looks decent, your problem is probably the hall sensor, and you should probably replace this part first. Installation-wise, there are DIY videos with instructions to remove and replace the parts. Lastly, there are cheaper options than $25 but we didn’t want to deal with the possibility of making adjustments to fit. This part connected to the electrical and snapped in easily.

Genuine OEM Part!
While it is more expensive than 3rd party manufacturer's part, I didn't want to chance any incompatibility so opted for Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). The part was a perfect fit and identical to the one I replaced. My washer and dryer set is 17 years old, and while I've replaced many of the sensors on the dryer just this past year, this is the first for the washer. The job was not difficult and took me about 40 minutes total to swap it out, should now be good for at least another 10 years. A job like this would have probably cost me $140 for parts and labor if I had hired out.If you do plan on doing this yourself, don't forget to use a threadlocker (like Loctite 222 or 243) on the center bolt as the part spins freely and you don't want it to dismount during operation. And remember, a little bit of this stuff goes a long way...

Fixes "LE" Error on LG Front Loader
This is the second time we've had to replace this particular part on our LG front load washing machine. It has probably saved us $800 or more over the course of the last two years if we had to call a repair professional when the tub sensor goes out. So easy to replace yourself!

Fixed my LE error!
This hall sensor is the exact replacement part for my LG model number WM4270HVA. I followed a youtube video on replacing the part. The repair takes about 30 minutes. The washing machine works perfectly now.

Works
Made our LG washer stop having LE warning when we installed it with LG OEM Original Part: 6877ER1016H Washing Machine Multi Wiring Harness. Lasted 3 years, just bought it again.

Product great, shipping method not so much.
The good, the product was exactly what was advertised. This fixed the LE error on my washer. The bad thing was it was shipped in a bag. Took two extra days to get here because they sent it south instead of north, then over the mountain and back before it headed where it was really supposed to go. All the traveling in a bag caused the item to arrive broken. On of the clips was broken off. We got it to work but I would definitely recommend that it is shipped in different packaging.
