It smells awful, but it works!
I have keratosis pilaris and have been trying to find a solution for years. I had tried countless moisturizing products and exfoliation products. I even tried Korea Italy towels after reading so many great things about them from others with KP - nothing groundbreaking. After about 3-4 days of using AmLactin, the results were drastic. This is the FIRST product I have found that actually works on my condition. This is the first time in my life since the age of 12 that my arms and legs are silky smooth. It's worth noting that the smell of this product is not attractive. It isn't losing a star for smelling like ammonia since that is one of the active ingredients, and clearly it works. It is not a miracle cure, but it is effective treatment for extremely dry and bumpy skin. After using this consistently for 1-2 weeks, I enjoyed the benefits for another 1-2 weeks before I really had to reapply.

Most Excellent and Highly Effective Moisturizer for DRY Skin I've Used
I don't know how the exfoliating properties of this cream will compare to 2 others I have from Amlactin and two from another major brand all used for body and feet. I was immediately impressed with the texture, absorbance and Very long - lasting moisturizing effects of this cream on my hands. The moisturizer seems completely absorbed into the skin, with no greasy or waxy residual feel. It doesn't just wash off the first time you wash your hands, like so many. With my perpetually dry hands, where the thickened skin on my fingers and thumbs regularly splits open...the quest for an effective and long-lasting moisturizer, for my hands, at least, may be over.

Pretty Good
The skin on my legs is very dry and flaky. I've tried loads of different products on the market, but this one has given me the best results for my skin. After the first application, my skin already felt so much smoother and softer, and the flakiness immediately went away. In addition, this product keeps the skin hydrated for a very long period of time (it should last 24 hours if you apply twice a day, as it recommends). I also have KP on my legs, but the cream didn't really seem to have any effect on those stubborn little bumps. Others have had better results with their KP when using AmLactin, so it could just be me.Overall, I'd give it a 4/5 stars. It's rather pricey for the 5 ounces or so that you get, imo.

this is my favorite! I use this on my face
Of all the Amlactin products, this is my favorite! I use this on my face! I am 59 and this has really made my face so soft, it works well as a base if I am applying makeup, and it has faded some brown spots on my cheeks from the sun. I have also been using it on my chest and the backs of my hands and have noticed that the brown spots on my hands are also fading! A little goes a very long way with this thick cream. It does not irritate the delicate skin near my eyes either, which surprised me. This cream needs to be applied when your skin is completely dry or it may have a grainy feel to it, which is kinda strange. I used to apply my other lotions on my damp skin for extra moisturizing, but with Amlactin this is not the best way to do it as you get that slightly sandy feel. But I am amazed at what this stuff and the other Amlactin products have done for my skin in just 2 weeks time, and I have tried Keri Lotion, coconut oil, body butters, you name it. This is a terrific product.

Love this stuff
I started using it for my KP and it definitely makes my arms more touchable. I also started using it on my legs just for hydration and love it. The best thing I've used it for is a facial moisturizer - it's amazing. It's thick but a little dab goes a long way. My face doesn't look greasy or shiny; it has more of a matte finish. The smell is minimal and I don't even notice it any more. I'm 60 years old and people are always asking me what I do to keep my skin so young looking. My skin looks smooth even though I am a very outdoor person and I've lived in some of the driest climates. Before the ultra, I used the XL and before that, I can't remember what they called it. I think I like the ultra the best. I will use it as long as it's available.

but nearly cleared up keratosis in like 3 days
Pricey but worth it. Didn't expect much, but nearly cleared up keratosis in like 3 days. I had a prescription to treat it that didn't work as well as this.I used it at night and sometimes in the morning. Works the best if you exfoliate in the shower then put it on.It says it makes you more sun sensitive and I'm sure it does, but if I put it on in the morning and wait a few hours, I have no problem at the beach - I'm fair skinned.Doesn't smell bad. Maybe a little odd when you first put it on - not a flowery lotion so no lingering smell good or bad. There is a subscribe and save option for this bottle that saves you a little if you plan on using it to treat keratosis - you have to keep putting it on, not like a permanent treatment.NOTE: this is a very thick version, I got the non-ultra in the green bottle that is a bit cheaper and just alternate the two - same results.

this doesn't smell as bad so that's a plus
I've suffered with KP all my life so I've tried a lot of things. I would say compared to other creams, this doesn't smell as bad so that's a plus. It also blends pretty good into the skin in my opinion. It's just as effective as other similar products in the market. Overall though I wouldn't buy it again because it's still not as effective as just using plain coconut oil right after you shower. If you haven't tried that, I highly recommend it. It's a bit greasy right after you put coconut oil on but if you wipe off any excess with a towel, it's much better. Still have yet to find a better substitute.
