MilkmanChocolate Milk with 18g of Protein – Instant Dry Chocolate Milk Powder (100 Packets)

I only bought 2 packs of this because it was my first time trying it & I didn't want to get too much in case I ended up hating it. I put both packs in a 20 oz shaker bottle that I use for protein shakes. I did not put the wire ball in with it - which was fine. It didn't need that.So, each packet is designed for 8 oz of water. I filled up my bottle to the 16 oz mark, and added cold water from my fridge. Then I added the powder from the 2 packs. Shook it for about 10 seconds in all directions. It dissolved very well and needed no extra help. The thickness was just like regular milk thickness. Had I used only 1 pack of powder with 8 oz then it would've been way to thin and the taste would not have been very apparent.Using 2 packs with 16 oz's worked out well. The chocolate flavor is not very strong. I guess people like their chocolate milk flavor in different ways. Some may wish this had a stronger chocolate flavor. I tend to like my milk more chocolaty. However, this was fine with me. It was enjoyable and drinkable. I didn't have to throw it out. The only thing that I noticed was that it was a bit gritty. Not sure how to describe this. All I know is that while drinking it, it was smooth but I could tell it was made out of powder. Perhaps I did not shake it enough. It just says 'shake well' on the pack. Doesn't say how long. Or maybe it would've been better to mix it in a blender. I don't have any more, so I can't try that now. This aspect wasn't enough of an issue that it bothered me. But I'm trying to describe it for people who have not tasted it and want to know before buying.I do think it's a tad bit expensive. But I guess it depends on what you're getting it for. As far as 'health' goes - the first ingredient is pure 'cane sugar'. So when you see that, it tells you this is not made to be a health drink. I was not ordering this as a health drink, which is okay for me. However, for kids or diabetics or people who are trying to avoid sugar - you might want to take this into consideration.Bottom line, I would buy this again. The taste was pretty good considering it was a powdered milk. I would not buy tons of it due to the price though. Next, I will buy the 'regular' flavor to see what I think of that.

About the chocolate packets:Two of my adult sons found it a little gritty. I did not.I'm a chocohalic. Having said that, the chocolate flavor was mild, but adequate. It was mildly sweet. I could see some people adding sugar to it. I can't imagine anyone saying that it's too sweet.The chocolate packets are for 8 oz only, while the original are for a quart. This was disappointing.We didn't make the original packets. We're storing those for emergency use, but I've had them before, and I prefer this milk to store bought.

Dissolved perfectly in cold bottled water! Good mild chocolate milk flavor. Unfortunately the price per serving is too high to purchase frequently. A delicious, occasional treat while traveling, hiking, camping, etc.

When fresh and powdered milk are not a routine buy, but you like chocolate milk, this becomes a great pantry item.3* Pricewise, it is more expensive on Amazon than it needs to be. Shop around. Great to find powdered chocolate milk. It is convenient to use the amount you want and not have to worry about it going sour in the fridge.

Delicious hot or cold. Easy to mix and no powdered milk taste. The kiss of cream makes all the difference!

Go to a stream and filter some cold water into your nalgene, empty this pouch into the water, then shake it like a polaroid picture (ah, ah) and viola! creamy chocolate milk. Very satisfying after a long hike.

I ordered 2 pouches tried 1. That was enough. No more for me
