Meet a zamboni
As a children's librarian, I know how popular these authors previous books in this series have been with preschoolers. I Stink was about a garbage truck, and I'm Dirty was told from the point of view of a construction vehicle. This time in I'm Cool, we hear from a Zamboni. The hockey game is not going well because the ice is in terrible shape. The players are tripping over the ruts. Finally, the period ends and the Zamboni comes out on the rink to fix the ice. The PA announcer doubts that the Zamboni has no doubts. He explains to the reader/listener how he gets the job done. There is just enough information to explain how a Zamboni works, without going over the head of a young child. The illustrations are bright and bold. I have no doubt this picture book will be as popular as it's predecessors. I'm hoping that --like the other books in this series--Scholastic/Weston Woods will bring this book to DVD. Highly recommend, especially for boys who like hockey or trucks.

Super cute dialogue, fun illustrations
If we’re being honest here, I bought this book more for myself than for my infant. I was always fascinated with Zambonis when I was a kid, so I took having my own kid as an opportunity to learn about them. It’s a super cute book featuring banter between a hockey announcer and a Zamboni machine. It is best read aloud by someone who can do different voices for the announcer and the Zamboni. The illustrations are fun, and the text is entertaining. I highly recommend for anyone whose kid likes big vehicles, or for anyone with kids who has even a passing interest in Zambonis.

Fun for adults and kids
Fun, engaging, and well-researched. This is one of Kate and Jim McMullan's best, right up there with I Stink, I'm Dirty, I'm Brave, and I'm Mighty. Second-tier books are I'm Fast, I'm Tough, and I'm Big. Not worth getting are I'm Bad and I'm Smart.
