Good book for a grandchild
The book had some good advice on healthy habits for my granddaughter, Genevieve. The best part was the title, which makes it seem that the book was written especially for her!

Friendship
I was a counselor at Jenny Craig's in El Cajon. I love the simple story and love that Jenny brought to us through her life time experiences.Eating right is really the key to Happiness and Joy for people and animals. She showed us all how to achieve this once again. Weight loss literature packaged as a horse story
I have a child who adores horses and wants every book even remotely related to them. We were so excited to find a new horse story, and at first I didn't even realize this story was by Jenny Craig--yes, that Jenny Craig. The story is indeed about horse camp, but it is full of kids who consume cookies, candy, soda, milkshakes, and cupcakes, plus horses who snack on sugar cubes. The girl who always wins the big blue ribbon drinks water, and her horse only eats healthy food. Once the main character, Jenny, starts juicing at home, eating whole grains, feeding her horse oats and apples, and they both exercise more, they win a most-improved ribbon at the end of camp.I couldn't even read the whole story to my kids, as it was overwhelmingly preachy and forced, which took away from the entertainment of the horse story. We happen to be a family of very healthy eaters, with kids who almost never get exposed to sugar, but this story was just too full of weight loss propaganda to keep reading it to them. I was insulted to have picked up a book that I thought was going to be about horses, and it turned out to be a child diet PSA.If you are searching for a book to inspire your child to modify his or her diet, then this is probably exactly what you want in a narrative. However, don't be fooled into thinking this is purely a story about horses.
