Sunday Afternoons Ultra Adventure Hat

Sunscreen is great, and I still use it on my face and neck. But I'm really enjoying UPF clothes. I got this hat for a sunny cruise trip and got lots of envious comments from other travelers. And YES - the chin strap may remind you of third grade, but you'll be glad it's there when the breezes are blowing. This one is actually for my husband, who doesn't keep up with SPF 50 on his bald head and had some pre-cancers removed. This is an easier solution.

This hat looks a bit goofy...but it certainly does the job. The bill is wide enough to protect your face and cover your ears; the back of your neck is protected; very light weight; doesn't blow away in windy conditions; folds up and fits in pocket or purse; all in all, I was quite satisfied.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:I don't like to wear hats, but I knew I needed something to help keep the sun off my face and the glaring out of my eyes. This is perfect and I like that I can keep it loose or tighten it up if it's windy out.

Had many sun blocking hats in the past. I like this one the most. It’s light weight, easy to fold and put in your pocket or backpack. The small pockets in the hat for sun glasses are useless. I was never able to use it to hold my sunglasses easily.

Been using this hat for almost a year now and it’s excellent, the most functional sunhat I’ve owned. Packable while providing excellent shade and breathability.The Large/X-Large allows me to wear a lightweight beanie underneath for warmth, while the backstrap allows you to still secure the brim in the wind. Additionally you can tuck the end of the aft flip under the hat to stop it from flapping in the wind (while still providing some aft shade).Finally, this style of hat allows you to pull a hood up and over. My favorite discovery is how well it works with a rain jacket hood. The rain jacket hood keeps most of the breathable portion dry, while the wide brim keeps the rain off your face.

Lightweight and great coverage from the sun on my face and neck. The neck cord holds it on my head on windy days. I love this hat. Helps keep my hair color from bleaching out too.

best hat ever made for outdoor sun protection. Bought my third hat. Love the folding feature for ease of carrying. super fast drying. Great design.

I love this hat. It's not the most stylish hat out there, but it is quite possibly the best sun hat you'll find in virtually every other respect. (And really, it's not like it's bad looking. Just maybe not as stylish as some alternatives.)I have used this for hiking, paddle boarding, and doing yard work and it has performed very well each time. It's super light and breathable and my head stays cool the entire time. Truly, it's something you can put on and forget you're even wearing it. I never had to take it off to wipe sweat away or let heat out, or anything like that.And of course, it protects me from the sun. I'm partially bald, and the hair I do still have is cut short, so my scalp has very little sun protection of its own. I need a hat that blocks the harmful UV rays. This hat has a UPF 50+ rating, so it's up to the task. What's amazing is that even the mesh ventilation areas are UPF 50+ rated. This means I don't have to worry about the sun getting through and burning a mesh pattern on my head. And yet, it's still super breathable. Best of both worlds.Also, the chin strap is great for keeping the hat secure when it's windy. Very important when you're on the water or hiking up high on a bluff.
