I have now purchased several of these as gifts and everyone has loved them.

I don’t usually write bad reviews but only three pieces of the candy were vintage. I could have made this box cheaper!!

Purchased this for my 69 year old brother. It would have been perfect except the big greeting said "Happy 72nd" NOT "Happy 69th" as ordered. (Will try to transferred picture of order kept with box holding birthday box.) He and I would have front yard candy stores during the summer and I thought it a great gift for him for nostalgia's sake. Everything...the box, the candy was wonderful. However, would have been absolutely perfect with the correct birthday note.

There's a lot of candy in this box. Are you going to like it all? Of course not. But, that's what sharing is all about. The nice thing about this box, though, is the gift potential. It's not easy buying a gift for someone like me, who is growing older (and wiser), so something like this makes a great, unique gift for anyone.The candy is fine. I've had quite a bit of it over the past few days. There are Boston Baked Beans, Lemon Heads, Sprees, Fun Dip, Bottle Caps, Sugar Daddies, hard candy, gum and even candy cigarettes. The candy in this box was fairly fresh. My only complaint is the lack of variety in these packages. I got the 49 year and 69 year packages and both were basically identical. If there were different candies in them, I didn't notice. Almost everything was exactly the same ... 20 years apart.Aside from the lack of variety, it's fine really. The presentation is nice as it comes in a cute little box with a newsletter inside to highlight some current events around the time you were born. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this as a unique gift for a close friend, relative or loved one. Just don't expect a lot of variety if you buy different packages for different years. Still, it's a cool package and a nice thought for that special someone who has a sweet tooth.

You get a box filled to the top with candy. It is ready for gift giving. There was a best before date printed on the box, and it was for about a year from now. There are wide variety of candy included, but not all of them have actual labels with name and ingredients, some are completely unmarked, but all are individually wrapped. It is a problem if you have allergies. Some of the candy seems to be USA made, but some came from third world countries, which is less than reassuring. There was a whole lot of just plain hard candy. I am questioning the idea behind putting jawbreakers candy in the box for 69 birthday, but at least those are not the huge kind.Does it worth it? I am not sure. There is an added value in selecting so many different kinds of candy and gift wrapping it but it still seems overpriced to me.The "newspaper" features different news facts from very unrelated years and topics the only common thing is the number 69 somewhere in there
