I opened the bag and behold, the beans of happiness and life greeted me with their warm tantalizing aroma, begging for me to grind them.I took them from their bag and poured them gently yet greedily into my grinder and pulverized them with pulsing hunger.I watched gleefuly as they spun down the tube through the burs and into the hopper and released more evocative scents.As the water came to a boil i put only 3 scoops of perfectly powdered beans of life into my kemex. Then i poured slowly and watched as the absolute most glorious crema arose from the slurry.As the steam lifted the brew bloomed and I gently became aware of the subtle hints of caramel and chocolate roasted into these very special beans.Once brewed I added the white cream of cow and the syrup of vanilla and took my first sip of glorious dark awakening. My mouth became alive with the very first taste.Creamy, soft, a bouquet of gentle flavors chocolates and maple, caramel, slight saltiness but not acidic. As I swallowed the flavor became more intense clean and warm, cinnamon aftertaste that slightly lingered and warmed my belly.It is a mild roast that has no char flavor like many who claim to be higher caffeine, not grassy, and not face punching FULL CHARGE WAKE YOU FROM DEATH. This is an enjoyable coffee that tastes sensually wonderful.Real review....I have chronic migraines. Caffeine helps my meds work. I've tried about 15 different "high caffeine" coffees there is some nasty crap on the market. This stuff is good. It didn't make my stomach upset, it didnt make me jittery and it didn't smell like feet or grass or cow pasture (trust me). It is super high in caffeine because it is a low roast (less roasting is higher caffeine, darker roasting cooks out the caffeine). This is not bitter and is really really good coffee. Just if youre not use to drinking coffee, GO SLOW DO NOT DRINK A FULL POT YOU WILL NOT BE OK.

As someone with a high caffeine tolerance it becomes difficult to find anything that is strong enough. Insomniac from Player One Coffee is exactly what I need. It's a very strong coffee. Immediately just sniffing the grounds wakes you up, with a light peppery smell. After about three sips and a couple minutes I could feel the extra caffeine hitting me. It is definitely one of the strongest coffee blends I have ever had.While the smell is peppery at first, once you brew and sip it you can definitely taste a citrus toffee and you can feel that this is definitely extra caffeinated coffee. Sure its a bit more expensive than your big store brands, but there's a reason for it.The flavor profile is AMAZING and the coffee is smooth. It doesn't taste burnt or roasted, definitely fresh.I love this coffee, great brand, great product. Highly recommend!

Insomniac is definitely a great coffee in my opinion. Its bold & pretty robust flavor makes for a nice morning or afternoon energy boost. The higher than average caffeine content really helps when you need a pick me up or feeling sluggish. Recommend!

Honestly the first day I took it the caffeine definitely hit! Then it just didn’t really happen for me after that first day. I was expecting a whabam lol but it didn’t hit like I hoped. Though not going to lie, the coffee is pretty good and it’s smooth! I don’t not like it, I was just hoping for a coffee with a caffeine that’ll give me a big kick. I’ll probably switch back to my death wish coffee and I’ll probably order it again but with the beans instead so it comes out fresher🙌

My husband and brother got each other this coffee for Christmas. They brewed a cup almost immediately. The flavor is great and incredibly smooth. I usually hate drinking coffee black but this coffee is so smooth and has a great flavor that when I tried it, it was delicious. The caffeine definitely gives you a kick in the pants.What made the buying experience even better was the customer service. We received the wrong order (ground instead of whole bean) and after I contacted “Player One”, they got back to me within 24 hours. They apologized and said they would send a replacement. It arrived within a couple days (including Christmas Day) and included a hand written apology (picture attached). These kind of things make you want to continue doing business with a company, especially when they have a great product to begin with. Will definitely recommend and buy again.

I usually hate the taste of coffee and only use it if I need a boost, so the first time I tried a cup of this, I recoiled because all I could taste was the cream and sugar. I then tried it without cream and sugar and was surprised at how much I enjoyed the flavor. It has layers of flavor that are so delicate that cream and sugar almost ruin it. I’m not sure I can go back to regular coffee after this. My only disappointment is that the caffeine content is not enough for me. I’ve had two cups of it and am still fighting to stay awake, so people with a high caffeine tolerance may not find this satisfactory.
