Petite Patisserie: 180 Easy Recipes for Elegant French Treats

Jam packed full of wonderful recipes with beautiful pictures. No wordy explanations or drivel, they just get down to it. Just as wonderful and his pink "Patisserie" Bible.

I found this book advertised with a couple recipes in a realtor based free magazine. I loved the free recipes that were printed and since I found it before Christmas, I purchased 2 books plus a tart pan to give my best friend for a gift. I have yet to make anything from the book but my friend was very impressed. I like that the recipes make small sized desserts which is perfect for my husband and I.

I have at least 300 cookbooks and magazines maybe a lot more. However, this far exceeds any dessert cookbook I own or have ever seen. There are pictures for each dessert. The recipes are simply written. These desserts look elegant and delicious and with such a great variety it's hard to know where to start.

From the cover to the recipes, this is a beautiful book. There are pictures for all the recipes along with some side notes. I spent an hour just enjoying the look and feel of the book when it first came. Now I want to try the recipes.

This used book was advertised as in "very good" condition but was not. The spine was broken and the condition should have been described as "good" or "fair". The price for the product was inadequate and too expensive so I returned it. The content was also not as good as expected with puzzling mistakes. For example there are 3 Madeleine recipes (for different flarors) but each has a vastly different recipe/ingredient quantity for the basic batter yet all are supposed to yield 20 madeleleines. Something is off kilter.

Beautiful book

Maybe my American-ness is showing, but I was expecting a book titled "Petite Patisserie" to have recipes for pastry. It doesn't (unless you count the one strudel recipe). A "Look Inside" feature with a peek at the table of contents would have been very useful.As for the recipes that are here, they look great. But I already have recipes for tarts, madeleines and cakes.
