Make sure you soak it...even people who like salty ham need to soak it over night
I loved that my ham was ready to cook.and .trimmed so well....your suggestion of a large baking bag was great...I had always boiled my ham in a large cooker....this was so much easier and clean up so much faster...I just wish postage was included....but all in all my family loved the Easter ham.....you have a new customer...will get in touch at Christmas!

Horrible ham
I had 22 people for dinner for Easter and must tell you that the ham that I ordered through Amazon that came from Rays Country Ham in North Carolina was so bad that the whole ham had to be tossed into the trash. I followed the instructions that came with the ham to the letter and yet it was so salty that no one could eat so much as one slice. I sliced off three piecess that I will be happy to send to you to see if anyone at your end can eat this ham. The rest of the ham on the bone went to the trash. I know it's not your fault but you should beaware of the items that you list onyour website are worth your endorsement. I will also write to Rays to let them know and I will also write on yelp to let folks know my experience. I do not feel that I should be charged for this ham (98.) but will pay if I must but want you to know my experience with this item. I will never order a food item that needs no refrigeration while in shipment as this ham was. I now know why. It must have been so loaded with salt that it could have gone round the world and woujld not have gone bad. It was bad to start with. Please responed so I can make arrangements to send you bak these pieces of ham that I want you to taste. Thank you Joanne Parenti

70:year history of Country Ham cooking
This is the only country ham I have ever cooked in a cooking bag and it was just such a pleasure. I presoaked in pineapple and brown sugar to cut the salt and cooked as directed. I took out of cooking bag and used a brown sugar and mustard glaze. It turned out delicious and it was beautiful to look at. So many compliments..I cook country hams all the time over past 70 years as my parents and grandparents did. Great on biscuits and with gravy. Season beans and pea soup. No end to the amazing uses for this wonderful ham. Buy it. You won’t regret it

Great flavor but very salty.
The flavor was excellent, unfortunately it was way to salty even after soaking for 24 hours. I will definitely order again but will make sure to soak much longer.

Tough and salty
It wasn’t something you wouldn’t eat or serve. Bought a normal bone in ham and Cooked the same way and it was moist and not salty. This product you cut the mold off soak for days and it is so salty and tough you would not eat it.

Perfect "country ham" flavor!
We soaked the ham for 20 hours in cold water, changing the water twice. The ham ended up with perfect country ham flavor. Just the right amount of salt flavor. It isn't cheap, but well worth the price. We will order one again when our leftovers are gone from the freezer. Fantastic flavor! Not too salty, but salty enough so you know it is a "country" ham.

Whole Country Ham perfectly prepared to put in the oven!!!
Most correctly trimmed and prepared country ham ever!! Cross-hatching was perfect and just enough fat left to season. Having 85 years experience in eating and enjoying country ham (yes, since birth!), this is one of the best baked hams ever!! Perfect cured ham taste and aroma just penetrated my home--to my dee-light!!THANKS TO RAY'S FOR PREPARING THIS WONDERFUL HAM!!
