Absolutely LOVE this book...such a great lesson for girls and reading about why and how this story was created was even better!! .I bought this book for my daughters 8th birthday and try to buy it for every little girl I know! You can not go wrong with this book...the story and illustrations are both beautifully done!

I am an avid Amazon buyer but I never write reviews... until now.I bought this book for my friend with a young daughter and she was beside herself with how powerful and beautiful the message in this book is. She did slightly scold me for not warning her prior that it would make her cry.I just bought a second copy to give to my niece. The fact that she loves unicorns is an added bonus to the deeply routed powers of female encouragement within this text.As far as I am concerned, if you have a young little lady in your life - buy it!

My daughter cried when she read the story, before she gave to my granddaughters, she loved the whole story, and so did my girls. This book was recommended by Dana Perino on Fox News, and was every bit as good as she said it was. I don't want to say anything about the story, but all women, young or old can relate !

I bought this book for my grand daughter as she is going through a lot of changes with her body. Some kids can be cruel and say things that can be hurtful and have a great impact on a child. This book made her cry yet the confidence to know that she is special. I highly recommend this book and it would also be good to read to students in school.

We gave this book to our 8 year old granddaughter, who immediately was captivated by the book’s appearance. Since she has very good reading skills, we were worried about the few words per page, but were nonetheless impressed with the graphics.The best way to critique the book is to simply use her Mother’s words. She wrote:“The message is great and the true story behind the message is a tear jerker. I’m thinking which friends I need to buy this for too..”

The product description I saw did not mention it was used. $15 for a book that has a torn and damaged cover? No. The price on the inside of the book ja ket is $17.99...NEW. This is supposed to be a Christmas present for my daughter as we have been dealt a lot this year. I cannot give her a book in this condition. I will be sending back for a refund.

My 8 yr old granddaughter read it to her 4 year old sister. They loved the story and the artwork. I saw the author on tv and thought she said it came with a unicorn crown. We were all disappointed it didn’t.

I didn't read the book, but the older girls read it to the youngest and my daughter said it was great for all 4 of her girls.
