Tenyo Disney World's Smallest 1000 Piece Brilliant Princess DW-1000-433

I was pretty sad when I received this. Tenyo makes many Disney puzzles and a line of very cool translucent plastic ones in this stained glass style, which makes this listing incredibly confusing because this particular image has two versions, apparently. The actual version I was looking forward to was with the plastic puzzle pieces, but this one is a traditional puzzle. Since the box is in Japanese and nowhere on the listing does it say which version it is, I bought the wrong one.

I have just completed the puzzle. The color is vibrant and it's image is crystal clear. If I hang it on the wall, it's very eye-catchy. The quality of the puzzle block may not be as good as Ravensburger, but it's still acceptable. It's size is also perfect, so that I don't have to worry to search for a larger place to get started.

Puzzle and pieces are way smaller than I expected based on the normalish size of 1000 piece puzzles. The border pieces are all black... good luck with that.

Pieces are very small!!!!

I was excited about the puzzle as a gift for a promotion, but I didn't really think it was going to be that challenging (for me, 1000-piece puzzles rarely are). I didn't think the small pieces would make much of a difference, but they definitely did. This was a surprisingly challenging puzzle, and the first I've ever done that I didn't build the border first. I looked at all those nearly identical black edge pieces and went "nope." It was a good decision. There are two things about the pieces being so small that up the difficulty factor--one: (this should be obvious but) the images on the pieces are smaller and it's much more difficult to make out small details. I typically am good at picking out a piece with just a hint of color on it--that was not so simple with this one. Two: the small pieces mean that the variance in the piece shapes were much, much more difficult to discern. Not only was it difficult to tell if a piece fit, it was difficult to see clearly when it didn't fit. There were several times throughout the puzzle where I had to go back and try and figure out where I had put something wrong. This was ESPECIALLY true with the border. I had the whole puzzle done and all the pieces of border that had any color in and was still left with about half the pieces on three sides (which was sort of amusing, because it was pretty much literally every other piece that was missing). I spent over an hour just trying to get the border alone done--with only half of three sides to figure out (one side had a bit of color on all of the edges that made it comparatively easier). Not only did pieces seemingly fit decently in multiple places, I ended up on several occasions half-convinced that I pieces that had bits of color in the wrong place because I couldn't get all the in-between pieces to fit. I ended up flipping the puzzle over to finish it because I could discern the fit of the pieces much better from the back. Fortunately, the pieces fit together so well, I was able to flip it over multiple times without a single piece falling loose. It does come with glue, but you probably don't need it.Usually, a challenging puzzle would get five stars from me, since that's half the fun. But in this case, I'm still not 100% sure I have the border right. There were pieces I had to jab in harder than I should have, but I can't see any others that look like they don't fit right. So it's complete, but since I'm not certain it's right, it's 4 stars.

孫のためにと両親が作ってくれました。昔よくパズルを作っていた父がメインで作りましたが、3週間ほどで完成の連絡がありました。1つ1つのピースは小さく老眼のため、虫メガネを使ったりして2人で頑張ったそうです。笑特殊ピースが１つもないため難しかったと言っていました。出来上がりは落ち着いた雰囲気で気に入っています。絵柄はステンドグラスのようですが、透明感はなく普通のピースです。最後に残ったピースがはまったのですが、絵柄があっていなかったので取り寄せとなりました。その分だけ星-1にしてあります。追加よーく他の部分をみたら微妙に絵柄が違うのにはまっているところがいくつもありました！笑ぱっと見わからないのでそのまま飾りますが、パズルとしては微妙かもしれません。星をさらに-1します。

Be aware, this puzzle is not transparent. I was kinda disappointed. I read in some English reviews and assumed that this puzzle is transparent. I can’t read Japanese which is only language available for the product description.The puzzles is small. Like really small. Lol I was expecting regular size and transparent puzzle. Too lazy to return it since I have nothing better to do during this pandemic.

今までいくつかジグソーパズルをしてきた中で、こんなに小さな1000ピースは初めてでした。1ピースが人差し指の第一関節に収まるくらいの大きさなので、失くしたら探すのが大変でしょうね。しかし、場所を取らないとゆうメリットがあります。ピースは小さくても十分満足できるし、完成品を飾るスペースも取らないし、なにより、プリンセス達が可愛いです。

小さすぎて作りづらいのは製品の特徴だから仕方ないが、はめたピースが合ってるのかどうかすら分からない。ピースの端っこは剥がれやすいし、ピースの形は1種類しかない。
