Great value and looks good
Very satisfied with this cargo carrier. I just drove 2,600 miles across the country with about 100lbs of cargo in it. It was very secure the whole trip, and I still have it on my roof since I think it looks pretty good. I had all of my cargo in a waterproof cargo bag, which fit nicely inside and had plenty of points to tie down. Since the body is aluminum, it will not rust like steel racks. It is very light as well. I haven't noticed any drop in my mpg with it mounted on the roof of my SUV. There is also no additional noise (at least that I could notice) at highways speeds, even with heavy winds. The wind deflector definitely does its job. A few times on the road I hit some bigger bugs and pebbles. The paint is all in tact and shows no signs of damage once all of the debris is cleaned off. Another nice thing about the carrier is that it has no branding. This will leave plenty of space to put stickers of the places I go on the front of it.The assembly hardware seems a bit poor. It started to show rust after the first time it rained, but it has not gotten much worse since then. All tools needed to assemble it were included.

Made in CHINA, I can tell, overall looks nice, part broke.
This took me over 2 hours to put together. Partly because nothing fit smoothly. I had to really push, pull, and shove parts into place. Once they finally fit it looked descent but somewhat light duty feeling, light weight, no sure how durable. It's not actually flimsy just very insubstantial feeling but it seems nice. Some scratches that were very minor. Also, there was a boot foot print on one part. The bad part really started though when on the last bolt the bolt reached its tightening point and then kept turning and turning. The welded piece that holds the screw broke loose so one of the bolts just spins. I'm not sure how much this will ultimately matter with all the other bolts tightly in place, but it is somewhat disconcerting to me that one of the bolts is not holding. No way to fix it as once the bolt fits in there to a welded piece that isn't reachable or fixable. They are good people to deal with. This rack was $69.95 on other sites but shipping was $39.95. So I decided to buy from Amazon even though it was $120 Free shipping as I have PRIME which by the way is a GREAT thing to have, your nuts not to get it. It's like $40 a year but if you order from Amazon a lot it's a steal.I wanted the security of purchasing from Amazon if something goes wrong so I paid more for this rack for that security instead of some of the other fly by night companies that had it a little cheaper. . The rack rails for my Range Rover Evoque should be in tomorrow and then I can see how this rack looks and secures then. Until now , this rack is light, but quality control , paint, fit, was a challenge. Like I said it's light weight, looks nice once finished so the overall product isn't that bad, worried about that one bolt though. I'll give this a shot and see. Good Luck. !!!

Easy to assemble but hard to install.
The product is lightweight and made of sturdy aluminum so there’s no need to worry about rusting. I replaced the shiny metal bolts with black powder coated ones which matched better and to make it look more sporty. It’s not really a universal fit with all vehicles because it did not exactly fit in my 2015 Infiniti QX60 so I had to improvised the installation. It worked out fine but I had to add extra pieces to make sure that it stays in place. I tested this product with a cross country drive from Texas to California and overall, it did what it’s supposed to do.

The rack was very big and bulky for a car ...
The rack was very big and bulky for a car. The actual rack was aluminum but the bolts and washers were not. I assembled the rack and went to put it on my car and it did not fit. The rack was left outside 1 nite underneath my covered porch and the bolts and washers started rusting overnite.

Great rack! And here is why...
Rack went together easily enough and the included mounts are contoured to fit most roof rack crossing bars. The rack is very light but surprisingly rigid and quite sturdy. One big benefit is that it's aluminum so it won't ever rust. I saw that some reviewers had mentioned that the hardware (nuts and washers) were rusting very quickly but I think they may have changed and upgraded the hardware. All the hardware now comes anodized to prevent rust and all the locking washers were aluminum. A fantastic buy for the money.

One plus was I could easily transfer it to both cars due to its lightweight
Overall I was not impressed this was listed as a "Heavy Duty" rack back in 2015 but for general duty, it did all right. So far it has been durable and has held up over the years. One plus was I could easily transfer it to both cars due to its lightweight. I was able to load it up with lots of Jerry Cans (5 gallon gas cans) and camping gear and though it was stressed it hung in there and didn't break up.Biggest issue -- Paint quality is poor and was flaking off when I got it. Hence the 2-star rating.Final Update 2020 - Besides the initial paint flaking issue it held up to some serious punishment. I took it through some gnarly trails throughout AZ, and it took a beating and kept on on going. After having this item on my FZJ80 for 5 years, it was finally time to replace it. In the end the paint was faded, weld joints were broke, and it wasn't worth repairing anymore. The weld joints breaking were from use/abuse and not product quality. So, if you don't care about the quality of paint this just may be the item you are looking for.

fine product
On a 2019 Forester with Aero bars. Assembly was simple but easier with another person to help in a few spots. I had (1) screw that was difficult to tighten, but it worked finally. Quality is very good. This is one of the few aluminum racks I found. The Aero bars have a 150# limit and so the weight of #21 instead of #50 makes a big difference in total capacity.
