UmbraFlex Surelock Bath Shelf

Because it came fully assembled it took a minute to figure out you have to take it apart to get the suction working. After that it works great. I love that I don't need to glue or drill into tiles. Ordered a second one!

I've been using the Umbra gel lock products for years and find that they stay on my shower walls when all others fail. Unfortunately, the suction cup material for this shelf is different and won't stay on at all. It's thick white silicon that doesn't flex much. My shower tile is smooth but has little grooves, so I'm not surprised. I like the minimalist look of this shelf and that the tightening knobs can be used to hang things. It just didn't work for me.

This was great at first. A little difficult to figure out the insta but once I figured it out it didn't seem like it was going anywhere. That lasted the first 2 months maybe and now every couple weeks it randomly drops off the wall.

The media could not be loaded.  Suction is awesome. Lot of space and it hasn’t fallen since I installed. But has no drain

If you are installing this product on other than a hard surface you will have to modify it by drilling holes or use adhesive pads. Manufacturer says it’s for hard surfaces like tile. Could of added manufacturers instructions to the detailed section. Some bathroom tissue rolls won’t fit so you might have to buy different rolls. Overall, it works well.

This was an annoying order; I had to return the first shelf I ordered there were no instructions inside the box. Even though it clearly stated on the outside of the box that “the instructions are in the inside” (in five languages no less! When the replacement came guess what? You got it No instructions to be found anywhere ! I was not a happy camper. I emailed Umbra’s customer service and after a day or so I received the instructions via email! Now the shelf is on the shower wall and it does it’s job sofar. I am including the instructions in case anyone else has the same problem . Just be sure not to install it on a grout line. And one more thing the shelf is not a bright white rather more of a cream color I don’t particularly care for the color since the subway tiles in the shower are bright white; but with stuff on the shelf it’s less noticeable. Overall it serves its purpose

I knew what I was spending, and didn't have great expectations. It's definitely OK, though the tube support for the roll seems a little weak, and I figure that will break someday. It does NOT come with an adhesive... that is NOT how it is mounted. It uses a suction cup. STOOOOOPID!!!! I ended up gluing that part to the wall board, which it would NOT suck to. It is a good design that could be better and more applicable if they tried a little harder. It gets a 6 out of 10.

Notice the picture they provide (last pic) vs reality (this is a normal size roll). I mean it sort of works, but cmon man. Also as many people have indicated already the roller part is a bit flimsy

Got the shelf up in no time, was quick and easy to do. But sadly, only lasted two days and ever since, it won’t stay up or only one side will stick to the wall. I’ve tried cleaning it 20 times and made sure everything is dry and nothing. I’ve changed where to place it and still won’t work.But if you can get it to work, it’s amazing.

As the soap dish of this line says ( I don’t think the information about this shelf state it quite as clearly)- this WILL NOT ADHERE to the common shower and tub insets ie plastic- no matter what you do.It’s my fault for ordering it, but I’m still disappointed I can’t use it, because this is a quality shelf. It’s sturdy, attractive, and holds alot. The two holes to hang razors are very handy. It looked great for the short time it stayed up.

Looks great but the actual bit that holds the roll is very flimsy. I foresee it snapping in the near future.It's a shame because if this bit was stronger than if would be 5 stars

Tried various times to stick this, it stayed in place for about 3 days max then fell. Don't even try to put anything in here as it falls immediately. Maybe it would hold some Kleenex . . .
