MICHELINCommander III Cruiser Front Tire - 100/90B-19 (57H)

The DOT date code on the tire shows it to be 10 months old when I got it. I contacted the seller and was told I could send it back (at my cost) and have it inspected for use and or damage. I haven't mounted the tire yet because the date code shows it to be an old tire. Tires must be replaced every 5 years no matter how many miles on are on them. I am already DOWN 10 months. Seller could not promise me I would get a newer tire so they might just send the same tire back who would know. I decided not to return it due to the fact I'd have wait on another tire and there is no telling what the date code would be on it. I won't say anything NEGATIVE about them but I sure won't say anything good either. I would've rated it higher but I'm not happy with the age of the tire.

Im generally a michelin buyer and love their product so this is probably biased but this by far is the best tire i have ever purchased. I get the best longevity out of it and stays grippy throughout its life span. 10/10 recommend probably a little pricey compared to other brands but by far the best purchase you can make for your bike!!!

UPDATE: I've got about 7000 miles on this year tire in about a year. The tire is sensitive to tire pressure I think. If it's too soft, it seems like to can get the treads while riding straight, but it could just be the road also as it's not all the time. PSI sweet spot seems to be about 38 lbs. No notable wearing at 7000, which would be just a little more than half use it off previous branded tires for me (this is suppose to be a longer lasting tire, so anything over 12,000 miles for me is gravy!) Traction seems good but very little rain driving so far. New Commander 3 going on the front here next week so the tires will be matched up. Very happy so far. I had used Dunlop's E3 previously for 12 years and loved them but they went to E4s and they're hard to find out non existent.So far, tire is rolling good. That said, new rubber is always good. We'll see after 10,000 miles. It does feel easier to roll in the corners, but that may be because it's new and my old tire I replaced was bald!

The manufacture date on this tire was 2012, so it is about to be 10 years old. That is unsatisfactory when it comes to motorcycle tires. They have an expiration date just like a container of milk. You use them past that and your taking a chance with your fate. I'm not happy about this and the seller and Amazon should know not to send tires that have such an old manufacture date. Haven't decided what I am going to do about this yet but I am not finished complaining about it.

Put it on after a flat and feels a bit more nimble than the commander 2 havent scrubbed them in all the way but have enjoyed them!

I will buy more when it's worn out or whatever it happens again

I sent the seller a question asking how old the tires were. he responded within a few hours and assured me he gets them from the factory. Tire I received was a year old. Great condition. Great tire, rated for high Kms. Do yourself a favor and don't buy a cheap tire for your bike. My previous tires were Dunlop 404s. The front lasted 1.5 seasons. the rear didn't last even a full season. Spend the extra for good quality tires.Would buy from this seller again.

Be very careful when ordering a commander 3 rear tire as most are radial & this tire is bias ply... I had to get a commander 2 to match my front tire
