I have had many of these timers over the years. Yes - they are fragile. They break easily. One drop and I am telling you, it is done. I've had kids accidentally hit it with their backpacks. I've had it stored in a locker for a few months and then not function at all. I've had the volume break. I've had the numbers fade off the screen and not come back. I cannot tell you how many I've had.But I continue to reorder it because it is the best timer out there. Big. Bright. Able to be seen and heard by any student in the room. Multiple functions.However the newer ones I have received do not have the warning bell the older models have. It is truly a shame. Students LOVE the warning bell. It is instrumental to pacing.I will order another one for next year because the time is fading on my last one. I will continue to reorder despite the high price. It is one of my Best Practices.

I have been using these timers for well over 20 years. This is actually my 2nd one because the old one finally gave out. I have looked and looked to find a less expensive timer for my class, and there is nothing at all that compares! The functions, especially the timer and stop watch features are extremely helpful for today's classroom, where so many things are timed, especially tests. Students like using the time, which helps them begin to independently regulate how they use their time. The time is easily visible from anywhere in the room as well.

I LOVE this product. I had one when I began teaching but it was lost in my classroom when Hurricane Harvey flooded our whole school. I purchased myself a new one because I really enjoy all of it's features. You can use it to randomly group or select students, it displays the date and time, and you are able to also turn on a backlight. I also like to use it as a timer or for countdowns! I only wish that it came with a charger to keep it charged, but I know one can be purchased separately or you can use batteries. I recommend this to any teacher in any grade level!

Great timer to time students to do classwork or take quizes.Con: If stored in a cold temperature it doesn't work. Needs to be warmed up and batteries taken out and back in for it to work again. There are sounds but the display shuts off from cold temp.

It is not cheap, but it is well made and offers great features. I just bought a second one for my classroom and consider it an essential item. Worth the cost.

We are in a school setting, we ordered this timer, as we thought it would be high quality and we would get many years of use from it. Not the case. We ordered in December and the timer stopped working in March. Three months. For a timer that we paid $59 for. We are very disappointed. We contacted Amazon regarding the product no longer working, we have to return the item and will be assessed a $11.80 re-stocking fee. Extremely disappointed. We are on a very tight school budget, we spent the money for a higher priced timer and are extremely disappointed with the product and no support to us when product stopped working. We cannot recommend this product.

great for what I needed it to do - to keep people on time during presentations in a company environment. People presenting were allocated 40min each. The timer does not lie, and presenter can monitor the time while they are talking, and when their time is up, an alarm goes off. Perfect! My previous timer was so complicated to set up, it was a gamble every time I used it

First one sent didn’t work. I exchanged for a new one with no problems. This is a great tool to have in a classroom. I’ve used one for over 10 years. It finally retired and I got a new one.
