I was impressed immediately with this item when taking out of the packing because it looked and felt solid without being excessively heavy. I’ve now used it to mount a canvas painting onto a wooden frame - about 1.2 x .80 metres and the first I’ve ever done - and I was all the more impressed with this tool which made it easy to get tension on the canvas during stapling. Excellent result with even tension. Next job is my first ever chair reupholstery where I will use this again.

I'm a total newbie but did manage to stretch a very large canvas with these pretty well. The rubber grips kept sliding off when I used the pliers for pulling canvas onto a smaller frame, which was quite inconvenient, but perhaps one isn't supposed to apply that much force.

I use these to stretch my canvases. The grip on the pliers are really good so achieve great tension in the canvas. Very good value for money.
